Through visual essays, students investigate corridors across scales, from within bodies to planetary systems. Using images as research tools, they trace flows and frictions in in-between spaces, exploring how movement and circulation are organised through infrastructure, media, and lived experience, while opening questions about the potential of corridors for other ways of relating, inhabiting, and imagining otherwise. .

SURVEYING SPECIES: WASTE AND PROTECTION in A PARLIAMENT OF OWLS (...) HANNA RULLMANN Within A PARLIAMENT OF OWLS (โ€ฆ) Hanna Rullmann presents an expansion of the research she did for her film HABIT 2190, a collaboration with Faiza Ahmad Khan. The film surveys the construction of a nature reserve at the site of the so-called โ€˜jungle,โ€™ a refugee camp in Calais, France, after it was evacuated and destroyed at the end of 2016. The film exposes the duality as the same language is used to treat โ€˜the migrant problemโ€™ and to address the restoration of a natural environment. In this extended look at the topic, Rullmann displays a collection of material on the species found by botanists in the area. Some of the species sprouted from food waste in the camp, while others became endangered by the presence of the camp, like the fen orchid. Even though human activity is particularly important in all of these speciesโ€™ life cycles, they are assessed through entirely different systems of value, language and protection. Visit A PARLIAMENT OF OWLS (...) at RADIUS (Tu-Sun, 11-17) โŒ€โŒ€โŒ€โŒ€ Voor EEN PARLEMENT VAN UILEN (โ€ฆ) ging Hanna Rullmann verder met het onderzoek dat ze deed voor haar film HABITAT 2190 (2019), een samenwerking met Faiza Ahmad Khan. ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด Our film and research project Something of the Sun is on @exnunc_ , a platform on ideas around the Mediterranean. โ€œThe work describes the historical movement of palm trees to the northern shores of the Mediterranean Sea, as a result of a well-oiled choreography rooted in orientalist fascination and colonial longing. It reflects on the making of images and imaginations of locality, through the case of 'stranger' plant species, which are made to belong via acclimatisation processes that allow for the convenient merging of exoticism and ownership.โ€ @chiaracartuccia ex-nunc.org/somethingofthesun ๐Ÿ’š Something of the Sun is a project in collaboration with Riccardo Badano, sound design and field recordings by Nelson Beer @spouse and voice over by Sara Rodrigues @sararodriguesstudio Supported by @stimuleringsfonds This online version of the project was commissioned by Chiara Cartuccia as part of EXN Lagoon.
