“Our community was born from a simple, powerful need: to create a space where young girls could be themselves, free from limitations and expectations.” says @Ethiopian_Girl_Skaters founder Meron. Now, just four years after the collective was formed, you find groups of girls grinding and carving at Addis Skatepark every Saturday like it’s nobody’s business. Because it isn’t Photographed by @LeaColombo and styled by @HannaKelifa , this cover story is an example about sisterhood and the beauty of maintaining tradition despite challenging it. Styling for @qasimi_official Autumn Winter 26 Show Memory and the House of Remembrance For Autumn/Winter 26, Qasimi by Hoor Al Qasimi reflects on memory as something carried, repaired, and protected. Continuing its collaboration with Lebanese, London-based artist Dala Nasser, the collection approaches clothing as a living archive, shaped through layering, mending, and hybrid tailoring. Protective silhouettes, architectural volumes, and tactile surfaces hold traces of landscape, process, and collective authorship, forming garments marked by time, place, and lived experience. In 2019, professors at the University of Washington created Which Face Is Real?, a game revealing how Al can generate faces indistinguishable from our own. If identity itself can be fabricated, what proves we are truly here? Shot in London, one of the world’s most surveilled cities, this story by @umitsavaci and styled by @hannakelif explores the new faces of the modelling world, the ones you can’t replace. Al can now generate faces that look indistinguishable from our own, raising urgent questions about identity and authenticity. In fashion, where the face has long been currency, this shift arrives just as the industry begins to embrace greater difference and representation. Shot in London by @umitsavaci and styled by @hannakelifa , this story turns its gaze to Global Majority talent, reminding us that while a face can be replicated, presence remains unparalleled. I had the most wholesome day working on this project that celebrates a group of beautiful Roma women and their community in Bradford with the wonderful @gabulaurent 💛 For a collaboration between @europeandrom and @barrelorgantheatre @roseannaegray @designersaschagilmour @heyjameela Thank you for having me 🫶🏾 This exhibition is the culmination of 21 workshops between September 2024 and August 2025, where Barrel Organ theatre company, European Drom and seventeen women from the Czech & Slovakian Roma community came together to explore the experience of being a Roma woman living in Bradford today.

#DazedMENA Issue 00 #CreativityInTheAgeOfChaos @dazedmiddleeast Inaugural issue @ethiopian_girl_skaters  photographed by @leacolombo  and styled by @HannaKelifa Makeup Artist @nadiabirhanu Styling Assistant @philipsmithland Photo Assistant Nebiyu Bekele Midekessa Producer @rachael.evans_ Dazed MENA Producer @fatimamouradd Local Producer @eskinderfasil I’ve admired the Ethiopian Girl Skaters community from afar for a long time, and having the opportunity to spend time with them and capture this story has been an experience I’ll forever cherish. Their strength, sisterhood, and vibrant energy are endlessly inspiring and truly beautiful to witness. Amid the weight of regional conflicts and gendered constraints, they’ve created something truly extraordinary—a sisterhood that redefines tradition while staying rooted in it. As founder Meron shares, the Ethiopian Girl Skaters’ mission grew from a simple but profound need: to create a space where young girls can be themselves, free from societal expectations and limitations. It’s a radical and joyful subculture where girls can safely learn, fall, and thrive against all odds. Now, just four years after the collective was formed, you find groups of girls grinding and carving at Addis Skatepark every Saturday like it’s nobody’s business. Because it isn’t. This story is a celebration of their resilience, a tribute to their dreams, and a testament to the powerful beauty of girls uplifting one another I’m immensely grateful to @ahmadaswaid for the support and this incredible opportunity, and to @omaimasss @fatimamouradd @rachael.evans_ @LeaColombo and my ride-or-die @philipsmithland for being the best teammates and making it all possible 💛
