Únete a nós para dar a benvida a Hannah Shirin, que chegou a Do Picho o 31 de marzo. Hannah é unha artista e deseñadora gráfica que participa activamente na concienciación e no traballo cultural. Ata finais de maio, apoiará moitos aspectos do traballo de Do Picho, incluíndo fotografía, deseño gráfico e dando vida a un zine usando risografía en diálogo coa comunidade. Traballando con outros voluntarios e artistas residentes, tamén organizará eventos locais.
Ademais do seu outro traballo, Hannah está a crear unha escultura audiovisual que honra as súas raíces iranianas. O seu pai escapara de Irán, instalándose en Alemaña, onde Hannah naceu de nai alemá. Aínda que moitos dos parentes de Hannah tamén están dispersos por todo o mundo, a guerra contra Irán afecta profundamente a ela e á súa familia, do mesmo xeito que a decenas de millóns de iranianos.
A escultura, que está feita de pistachos, explora o seu compromiso coa súa identidade iraniana. Os primeiros borradores da obra desenvolveranse durante a súa estadía en Do Picho.

Please join us in welcoming Hannah Shirin who arrived at Do Picho on March 31st. Hannah is an artist and graphic designer who is active in awareness-building and cultural work. Until the end of May, she will be supporting many aspects of Do Picho´s work, including photography, graphic design and bringing to life a zine using risography in dialogue with the Do Picho community. Working with other volunteers and artists in residence, she will also organize local events.
In addition to her other work at Do Picho, Hannah is creating an audio-visual sculpture that honours her Iranian roots. Her father had escaped from Iran, settling in Germany, where Hannah was born to a German mother. Even though many of Hannah's relatives are also dispersed across the world, the war on Iran deeply affects her and her family, as it does tens of millions of Iranians.
The sculpture, which is made from pistachios, explores her engagement with her Iranian identity. First drafts of the work will be developed during her time at Do Picho.

This drawing I made 2022 when #mahsaamini was murdered and the #zanzendegiazadi movement woke up. Now the regime is more brutal than ever and the people started to shout nothing more than #freeiran - in solidarity with the iranians fighting for freedom and human right i wrote some thoughts down.

Listen to yourself carefully, hold your heart, take care. Breathe. Don’t forget to breathe. This is your power. Be alive as much as you can! Because they are already dead. Fight like a peaceful warrior for growing a peaceful world with a caring and loving structure. Hold your inner boundaries even, if they take everything. We cry with you. We shout with you. We are with you. Trust yourself. You know the best. #bestrong #staystrong as you already do. Go on. What a cozy mess! Am Samstag war ich in der @alteschulestpauli mit einem Riso- & Siebdruckstand. Danke an alle die das möglich gemacht haben und dieses Wochenende die Halle in ein gemütliches Treiben verwandelt haben. Ich freue mich über die tollen Experimente an meinem Stand & eure neu entfachte Begeisterung für Siebdruck. :) Schickt gern eure Ergebnisse via PN, wenn ihr euch im Post nicht entdeckt. Die Ausstellenden werden vorgestellt: @hannah.calling ist Künstlerin, die während ihrer inneren und äußeren Reisen in Kontakt mit der Natur und Gefühlsprozessen fotografiert, zeichnet, spielt und Dinge und Klänge sammelt. Ihre Arbeiten drehen sich um diese Themen. Hannah arbeitet u.a. mit Riso- und Siebdruck.

I went to Bremer Zinefest on 25-26th October! It was such a inspiring fest <3 I showed my book and someone filmed it in bad quality (#smash-the-instagrambility), I became a @geleeregen fan and collabed perfectly with @stef_mosebach who is already a @geleeregen - groupie and had the best helper and neighbour next to me @banana_poster_press / @hainaland
