‘Lehar’ reimagines the carpet as a sculptural
object with it’s form capturing a more metaphorical moment — a magic carpet frozen in a desert storm.

Suspended between movement and stillness,
it evokes wind, wave, and drift, transforming a
familiar woven surface into a contemporary
bench.

The piece is developed by integrating multiple sequential fabrication processes, put together resulting in this wonder.

The inner shell is clad in hand embroidered bespoke fabric, offering subtle glimpses from a distance, inviting closer inspection and curiosity.

This piece symbolizes sustainability, crafted from repurposed fabric and showcasing the Indian handicraft tradition of ‘kantha embroidery’, emphasizing a commitment to material reuse while staying true to the roots of tradition.
