A Gesture for the Contemporary City Designed as an exhibition pavilion for Design POV(@designpov.india ), Museum of Objects reinterprets the archetype of the courtyard as a contemporary spatial proposition. Organised around a central open void, the booth draws from the spatial intelligence of the courtyard house, using absence as an architectural device to anchor light, landscape, and movement. A sequence of interconnected rooms frames each object as a deliberate encounter, transforming display into a calibrated act of perception. Material restraint, controlled views, and layered planting create an environment that is at once immersive and contemplative. At its centre, a single tree establishes a quiet point of orientation, demonstrating how even within a compact footprint, architecture can evoke a profound sense of connection and place. In the context of the contemporary city, where space is increasingly compressed and boundaries between interior and exterior continue to blur, the courtyard remains a potent gesture - one that restores clarity, stillness, and resonance. The project proposes that the enduring value of architecture lies not in scale, but in the depth of experience it creates. Pune Design Show 2026 by A&i Digest: He doesn’t just design spaces. He pushes the boundaries of architecture. Ar. Abin Chaudhary, Principal Architect at Abin Design Studio, leads a practice built on unafraid exploration of thought, space, and community. His work goes beyond conventional frameworks, questioning how architecture interacts with people and how spaces shape collective experience. Each project is driven by intent, challenging norms and expanding the possibilities of the built environment. With a design approach rooted in exploration and clarity, his practice continues to push architecture into more meaningful and engaging territories. We are proud to welcome him to Pune Design Show 2026 by A&i Digest. 📍 Silver Palace, Hinjawadi, Pune 🗓 June 19th, 20th, 21st 2026 . . . NPR Corporate Office, Kolkata An expression of structure in its raw clarity, where material honesty and tonal gradients define the spatial narrative. Rhythm unfolds through repetition, light, and movement - creating an environment that is precise, immersive, and enduring. #ArchitectureAsExperience Photographs : Suryan // Dang (@suryansaurabh & @lokesh.dang ) Design Team : Abin Chaudhuri (@abin_chaudhuri ) | Sarthak Dutta (@sarthakdutta_ ) | Arpita Banerjee (@ishan.banerjee.2007 ) | Arghajit Mazumder (@arghajit_mazumdar ) | Monomita Banerjee (@monomitabanerjee16 ) | Ahana Sen (@ahanasen ) | Akshaya Thiagarajan (@aksh___25 ) | Avirup Sinha(@riv_aan )

At the threshold of The Reserve, architecture becomes an experience of light, craft, and quiet drama as a gradual spatial transition from the city into a quieter, more contemplative interior landscape. Filtered daylight through timber lattices and ribbed glass introduces shifting patterns of light and shadow, while layered corridors and sculpted staircases choreograph movement through double-height volumes. The design draws from ideas of craft, rhythm and continuity—where material, light and proportion shape a refined spatial experience. Where prayer meets the quiet rhythms of nature, a spiritual landscape unfolds—one shaped by reflection, humility, and belonging. Mosque at Mukteswar, Dharavi, Maharashtra, emerges from this quiet search for the essence of a sacred space. Inspired by the Islamic lunar calendar, the moon becomes both guide and metaphor—its shifting phases informing an architecture that speaks of time, transformation, and gentle continuity. In returning to simplicity, the mosque is conceived as a place of calm proportion and contemplation. Soft, diffused light enters gently, creating an atmosphere that is serene and egalitarian—where silence, devotion, and community breathe together. Unscripted is our winning entry among the other 10 entries for a temporary pavilion conceived for the Jaquar Pavilion Park at the Architecture & Design Film Festival in Mumbai, curated by Aric Chen. Responding to the city’s restless simultaneities, the design begins with a disciplined grid that fractures through a 48° shift, introducing diagonals, voids, and porous thresholds. Inspired by Mumbai’s layered urban condition where density, movement, and fleeting encounters shape everyday life, the pavilion becomes a spatial reflection of interruption and improvisation. Voids frame light and interaction, allowing performer and audience to continually exchange roles. Through this interplay of structure and absence, Unscripted mirrors the city’s vitality an ever-evolving metropolis that thrives through openness, adaptation, and possibility. Inspired by coastal calm, this hospitality project balances tropical lightness with the quiet depth of Bengal’s shoreline. Where water blurs sky and structure and palms frame shaded verandahs, the architecture unfolds in gentle layers crafted to invite pause, presence, and meaningful connection.
