Obie-winning playwright and director Kristina Satter and her company Half Straddle (@halfstraddle ) present a work-in-progress showing of PETRA‌, the company’s new adaptation of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s 1972 film, The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, which follows a fashion designer living in self-imposed isolation. When Petra falls in love with a beautiful young female mode her world begins to unravel.‌ ‌As their relationship shifts and fractures,‌ her emotional control slips. PETRA is a psychological chamber piece: intimate, intense, and laced with cruelty and love.‌
