NYC IS A LIQUID of immensely reflective proportion - giant cities are our own reflections on ourselves in ways that we do not wish to see; avoidance is the bedrock of the city( and state). objectification, extraction, and othering are the modes of avoidance of modern life, and there's no clearer disruption of this material avoidance than exposing the depths of it in our everyday lives.
