What started as one of my favorite freelance contracts to rebuild the 993 EVO after PPIHC 24’ has developed into a place I call home.
Three months ago I started full-time with @bbiautosport . I got a call from chat that they are running five cars up the mountain and it’s gonna be a race not only up to the summit, but to get the cars ready and sent out.
Two ground-up builds, two GT4 cars, and a legendary Turbo S converted cup car. Countless hours, laughs, blood, sweat, and tears from the entire team and we did what we came to do.
Five cars up, four podiums, one GT4 championship, and most importantly a rock solid team of engineers, technicians, drivers, and leaders.

We set out to build the ultimate street/track BMW E30 with high attention to detail, fit & finish, serviceability, and reliability. All while maintaining the classic appeal of the early European market model. Much of the inspiration for this build comes from the 1986 BMW 325i @vogelsang_automobile driven by Olaf Manthey. Utilizing many original Gr.A parts for suspension, composites, reinforcements, and other mechanics. The engine has a slight twist to the original M20. Using a custom piston from @vacmotorsports@cp_carrillo to raise the compression to 10.25:1 and a custom built B23 European cylinder head with heavy porting, big valves, and a 284* camshaft. The engine produces 194HP at the tires and revs to 7,000 rpm!
There are still a few changes to the suspension to be completed and more street and track testing to achieve our goals 🏁 @bmwclassic

Nearing the finish line of my vision of the ultimate M20 engine for the @gefahrenewelt E30. A high compression 2.8L bottom end featuring custom 10.25:1 pistons with a 1mm overbore as a collaborative effort by @cp_carrillo and @vacmotorsports .
Bottom end assembled/machined by the legendary @russ_at_steves . We chose to knife edge the factory 2.7L crankshaft and add a lightweight and 5mm longer connecting rod and a lightened factory flywheel.
Between rods/pistons/flywheel/crank we went from stock rotating assembly of 88.31lbs to 74.9lbs final. 13.41 lbs of rotating weight removed (15% lighter than OE)
The top end built by @hiapexgti features a highly modified 731 cylinder head that has been fully ported, +2mm valves added, five angle valve job, hemi-spherical combustion chamber machining and a 284 degree camshaft with dual valve springs.

- to see them as they are, not how you want them to be; often times we get caught up in the idealizations we've placed upon people. to wish they would be a certain way due to the fact that many of us wouldn't be that way, but we fail to realize that's just who they are. not the person we've imagined them to be but genuinely the person they are. for what it's worth, it doesn't hurt to see them for what it is, whilst we become who we want to be. mindfulness at its best.
