To my graduating class of 2026: 🎓✨🫶🏻💛🖤 ⚓️
It’s been a privilege. Witnessing your individual dedication and growth has been a joy, and working with you in Pedagogy and Studio has been my HONOR!
@kady_hillman - effervescent soprano, generous energy, shiny presence. She lead a glorious Alma Mater at commencement, tackled Strauss all year, and entered every session we had with radiance, focus and humor. I was lucky to see her shine in Italy! Best Ab in the business. Her peers benefit from her example, and her students will be lucky to have her.
@chloe.jalkut123 - a warm, colorful voice and human with secretly killer coloratura. My English major’s love of the text connects her deeply to the songs and stories she sings, and her vulnerability onstage never leaves a dry eye. She’s a gifted comedienne and an amazing community member from opera stage to choral ensemble. Chloe’s warmth, kindness and patience brought out incredible sounds in her work with her peers as music director and voice teacher in Ped. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you, Chloe!
@calebrockk trusted me on the journey of transitioning to tenor. He showed up to every session with amazing questions, open to feedback and ready to WORK. Amazing German diction, gifted storyteller, insatiable curiosity, beautiful lyricism, and the best ‘Finishing the Hat’ I’ve ever heard live. No doubt this tenor-cum-laude will soar in grad school for performance and pedagogy! 🎶
@irllyloveari made Cornelius Vanderbilt proud. She’s a gorgeous singer who feels deeply, with the power to move me to tears every time, from artsongs to spirituals. She is a gifted, natural instructor, and it was a joy to witness her develop her love for inspiring music and learning in the little ones with her leadership in outreach at the Acorn School. No doubt her next steps will make her an incredible music educator, that’s a voice being used for the greatest good.
Love to you all!!
