Jaco’s primary instrument from 1962, rebuilt in 1986 by Kevin Kaufman after it had reportedly been thrown down a concrete stairwell by Jaco in the heat of an argument, shattering into about 10 fundamental pieces resulting in Kaufman spending over 150 painstaking hours repairing the bass.
HENCE THE DIFFERENT LOOK.
Instruments do develop souls overtime, and this is the proof of that.
Anyone who knows and heard this bass enough in their life can recognize that it sounds as if litterally nothing happened. Talk about miracle.
