It’s going to be amazing!
“You’ve helped me learn skills to build my future. I want to do more!”
We had an idea.
We talked to our partners.
The idea grew.
We tested it and shaped it.
This idea just got real - our new Theatre Explorers programme will be supported by @youthmusicuk ’s Shift the Scene Fund. 🎉
Working with partners including @lbnyes , @newhamlondon , @hackney_shed and @sadlerswells_east , this project will transform creative employment opportunities for learning disabled and autistic young people in Newham.
Co-led by our Associate Artists, we’ll build artistic skills, explore learning disabled and autistic identity, and navigate the creative industries.
Alongside this, we’ll be working closely with our brilliant partner organisations to push for more inclusive ways of making and presenting theatre, opening doors that have too often stayed closed.
Let’s get started.
Children's Theatre have created these fun robot heads as part of our Design Workshop this morning. The young people are contributing with design ideas for our upcoming Summer 2026 Show! 🤖
COMEDY Podcast Mocumentary!
We have a new exciting project coming up for 13-19yrs. Join us to create an original Comedy Podcast Mocumentary!
What’s true? What’s not? What’s real? You decide!
It might sound like a documentary, but the podcast you create will be entirely of the groups creation, and very very strange and funny. Can you take any of your audience in? Will anyone believe what we say?
Workshop Dates
Thursday evenings: 30th April – 21st May 2026
Times: 6pm – 8pm
Recording Day: Tuesday 26th May, 10am - 5pm

Did you know Hackney Shed is turning 25 this year???
Well one of the ways we are celebrating is by having a MARATHON TWENTY FIVE runners is represent us by running the Hackney half on May 17th.
Here are some of Hackney Shed showing their support and if you would like to support you can do that by:
- Donating! Our JustGiving is live and you can get to it via our website
- Cheering on the day! We would love to see Hackney Shed banners, flags, chants, dances all along the route on the day itself, helping to keep our runners going.
GO EVERYONE!!!

‘ONE SHOT ‘TIL SHOWTIME’
That’s a wrap on our fabulous half term shoot. After weeks of creating the story and perfecting the shots, this short was filmed in one as a singular, continuous take!
This film will put you in the literal viewpoint of a pop star’s last minutes before going on stage
We cannot wait to share it with you!
Huge thanks to @odd_eyes_theatre@hoxtonhall@eastend_cf
