Coming from big budget productions to doing an indie feature has proven to be tough indeed. I wasn’t just the Production Designer but I was also the entire art department (carpentry, set decoration, props, scenic, SFX, wardrobe, and greens). This was truly a test of my limitations and I’m proud to say that 1912 Ravenhardt is my first indie feature film to this date. Not only is this project my first indie feature that I production designed but it is also the first horror/suspense thriller that I’ve ever worked on. Those who truly know me know that I got into film because of Halloween so working on a project like this has been my goal since day one. I’m thankful to @dsp8 for believing in me to bring his vision to the big screen. It was a pleasure collaborating with the DP @manojnarulacinematography . I learned so much on this project, especially pertaining to how to make a small budget work. I put over $30k on this set with a budget of only $2500 and currently it looks like I may have been able to keep the budget at $2500 🤯 God is good!! I couldn’t have accomplished this without @barikares of #LittleBareProps allowing me to rent our props and set dressing at an extremely low rate. @andreasethomas for carrying this project with his great acting capabilities. @magnoliafunerals for allowing me to hold 3x coffins for nothing more than a donation. @j.r.732 for doing the carpentry, scenic, greens, and props work with me. @rebekahibarra616 for taking on the load of wardrobe with me and assisting where she could. @wrayanthony34 for assisting me with the scenic, SFX, and greens work as well. And last but not least @mackensiemcd for stepping up and helping me as a set decorator when she was only a PA. I’ve made a ton of new family members on this project and I’m glad we were able to complete this project. S/O to all the cast and crew for making this project pop. Special thanks to Willie, who grew up with one of my closest uncles, as well as, Cornell, and Gavin. Y’all kept me going! Love is up!!! #1912Ravenhardt #HorrorFilm #FeatureFilm #IndieFilm #1980s #1990s #PresentDay #Charlotte #SP8digital #GaryLitDesigns #LittleBareProps #GareBear #KareBear

Collaborating with my Howard University family during Black History Month was everything. We made something special — and The Usual is coming soon to theaters nationwide! 🦬 To celebrate, I’m passing the gift forward. Coca-Cola and AMC hooked us up with this QR code — small popcorn + unlimited drink for $9, good as many times as you want through June 30th. Add it to your wallet. Share it with someone you love. Consider it on me. 🍿🥤 Thank you Coca-Cola Refreshing Films for this one. Ed, Aviva, and Katie 🙏🏾🫶🏾📽️🎬 Film: The Usual Director: Avery Harrell Producer: Aditya Gupta Production Designer: Gary Little Art Department 🙏🏾 Prop Master: Lucas English Food Stylist: Walter Atta Assistant Art Director: Chanel Cook Set Decorator: Laura Foltz And a special thank you to Montré Missouri 🤗😘❤️💙🦬 #CocaCola #AMC #CocaColaRefreshingFilms #ProductionDesigner #DMV

With all of the challenges that 2025 brought—loss, heartbreak, and moments of uncertainty—I can truly say that I am grateful and excited for what God has in store for me next. This year reshaped me. I’ve become more emotionally intelligent, more focused, more goal-oriented, more humble, and more joyful. I reached a major milestone by production designing my first horror feature film, 1912 Ravenhardt. I also attained the goal of production designing my first Christian-based feature film, alongside production designing two short films and art directing the short film Albatross, which has been selected to premiere at Sundance later this month. Creatively, I wrote four feature films and began conversations with major studios about bringing my first theologically based horror saga to the big screen. I also began my journey into stage design and lighting design and connected with an incredible group of creatives who give me genuine hope for the future. Some of us even launched a new production company together—Nexis. Why? Because Next is us. While my finances haven’t yet returned to where they were two years ago, I am very close—and based on what I’ve accomplished this year, the opportunities ahead point toward checks larger than anything I’ve seen before. It has been seven years since I lost my father and my big brother, and I have carried both of their dreams with me every single day since. As I move into this next chapter, I am deeply focused on personal growth and on finally reaching the dreams I envisioned as a child. It’s only up from here. God has never left my side, and now I am fully letting go and allowing Him to order my footsteps. If God has me, who could stop me? 2026 is my year of the determining factor. This year will set the tone for the rest of my life—and for the generations that follow. To God be the glory. Happy New Year to all! Love you all to infinity and beyond 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀 #BlessUp #LoveIsUp #ProductionDesigner #ArtDirector #PictureCarCoordinator

RIP to my auntie, Roberta McLeod, who was also my Howard/DC mother. When we took this picture—I didn’t think this would be the last photo we would take together with you being in good health. I remember this night vividly. You showed up late to tailgate and instead of leaving, which I was about to do, I stayed with you the entire evening and escorted you around. You were more than my aunt. You were also my second mother. You were there every time my mother couldn’t be. She and I both appreciate you to the fullest for it. It’s been a long hard journey since you retired from Howard and I’m glad that you are no longer suffering in pain. I know that we will be reunited again and until then, I will continue to make you proud and be the man that you have raised me to be. I’ll love you forever auntie! You were and always will be, my beloved. RIH 🙏🏾🫶🏾

I have this brother who went to that other University somewhere in DC! But, nahh I have a brother who is so cool, like, movie-set cool! 🎬 Making movies is his thing!!! Beyond that, he’s the kind of brother every sister dreams of having, supportive, funny, and always true to himself. I’m endlessly proud of him and grateful to call him my brother! The present and future is oh so bright!!! 🙌🏽 #brothersisterlove❤️ #howardvshampton #inreallife #siblinglove #moviemaking #productionlife🎥 #artdirector #setdirector #mediaindustry #movieindustrylife

Camera wrapped on God With Us this past Monday. I’ve got one more day before I officially wrap, but I couldn’t wait to thank my prop master, Lucas English. One day at lunch he asked to take my picture—I didn’t know why. Turns out, he used my silhouette as the centerpiece for art dept. stickers he made for the crew. When I told him I had no idea, he said, “You’re the center of it all.” I was truly touched. No one has ever honored me like that in this industry. Lucas, you made the hard days easier and did an outstanding job. I’ll never forget it. Love is up! 🫶🏾 Thank you to my entire crew—you’re all rockstars. @aleksandrovalbinant Art Director (prep days) @coolkjax On set Dresser/Art Director (shoot days) @darien.erdle.3 Picture Car Captain @saltythepenguin Prop Master @jim_slug Armorer @eparkerwebb Foreman Set Dresser @mattdeans.ig Set Dresser @eichelberger475 Scenic (day player) @lbk01992025 Set Dresser (day player) @mconner07 Set Dresser (day player) @ballavision_visuals Art Department Coordinator Production designed and Picture car coordinated by yours truly, Gary Little Special thanks to Little Bare Props and @recent_history_prop_rentals 🫡🙏🏾
