I’m excited to share the launch of the first edition of “The Villa”, @villa_accadia print magazine.
Villa Accadia is a space of ongoing cultural production, and this magazine reflects what the Villa creates: the people, projects, and ideas that bring it to life.
In this issue, you’ll find a short story by @etgar_keret original artworks created at the Villa, recollections from a dinner that changed history, and conversations with artists, thinkers, and makers shaping our cultural landscape.
Thank you to the editorial team @maynehama@ronngoldberg and to Design Lead @davidhaliva , as promised.
@orlyanan by the beautiful Cover.
The Villa Magazine grew out of the same impulse that shaped Villa Accadia itself. A desire to gather people, ideas and culture in one place.
Over time, conversations, creative projects and collaborations began to form a body of work.
The magazine became a natural extension of that process- a way to collect and share the stories that emerge from the life of the villa.
Members are welcome to collect the printed edition.
Ancient fertility figures have always been one of my sources of inspiration. This year I had the privilege to see one of my works displayed together with a beautiful Syrian figurine at the @juedischesmuseumberlin thanks to the wonderful curation of @miriam_a_go “Middle Bronze Age Humans have always been fascinated by the creation of new life. For thousands of years, many regions and cultures have celebrated female fertility through sculptural forms such as these clay figurines. With their prominent female sexual characteristics, they reveal a respect for the miracle of childbirth and the associated dangers to the mother’s life.” From the book “Sex. Jewish Positions”.

I will presenting my lecture performance “Wearing Photography” at the @wegetcloser in Berlin on Friday the 15/11 at 1:00 PM. If you are around I’d love to see you there! Curator: @katie.eva
Our new exhibition “Permitted and Allowed” is opening Tomorrow.
Friday 8/11, 12:00. Hope to see you all there🌟
Leah Goldberg’s iconic line “permitted and allowed” from the poem “Is It True?” was written during the Second World War and reminds us that even during war, we are allowed to feel the human experience in all its shades. The exhibition “Permitted and Allowed” brings together a host of Israeli and international artists, who trace the experience of human existence.
When the guns roar, the exhibition wishes to remind that the muses cannot be silent. It is allowed to ask, and it is permitted to explore, and it is allowed to create, It is allowed and permitted to -
I will be presenting my lecture performance “Wearing Photogrpahy” in new venues this summer. If you would like to be part of this immersive and fun experience as one of my performers pls DM me.
This summer, I was invited to do a live performance for the @ubumuntu.artsfestival at the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Rwanda together with @ladibadi
It’s hard to describe the feeling of telling my grandfather’s holocaust survival story during the commemoration of the Rwandan genocide, and connecting with so many people by sharing our stories.
I want to thank the inspiring curator of the festival @hope.azeda for the opportunity to learn what Ubumuntu means: a feeling of empathy and kindness that connects us all as humans beyond identity markers: “I am because you are”

"Wearing Photography" is a lecture performance by @guyaon that will take place on our gallery next Saturday at 16:00 hrs open to the public.
Guy Aon’s Lecture Performance "Wearing Photography" invites the audience to get to know and experiment with an innovative technique, which allows us to print photographs over the human body by dissolving a special photographic paper in water and learn about potential applications of this method in the industries of fashion, aesthetic medicine and face-recognition.
Aon's current work is the result of a long research process where art, industrial design, and science intersect. He uses art and photography as an inspiration to think of the ways in which images can be turned into objects: pictures can be touched, dressed, used as filters; bodies can be worn.

Guy Aon (1986) lives and works in Tel Aviv. Trained as a photographer, a plastic artist, and as an industrial designer, Aon’s work in the field of visual arts revolves around his research on the interaction between image and object, with a particular emphasis on the human body. Aon holds an BFA from the Bezalel Art and Design Academy in Jerusalem (2014) and a Masters in Design also from Bezalel (2019). Aon is a gallery artist at Rosenfeld Gallery.
