Just want to say a quick thank you to @bifa_film for the nomination alongside @themausoliam for housewarming!!
No win but honestly, I feel like a winner just to be in the room up against such incredible competition. Being crammed on a red carpet next to people like Olivia Coleman, Sean Baker and Saoirse Ronan is an experience that will live with me for a while… even if I was very awkward while doing it.
Thanks @bifa_film

HUGE NEWS. I’m guilty of downplaying filmmaking achievements but not this one. This one I want to shout from the rooftops, standing in a box, through a megaphone.
It feels very surreal writing this but we won at the 58th @sitgesfestival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya
We won the Critics Award: Secció Oficial Fantàstic a Competició (SOFC) BEST SHORT FILM.
This award was chosen by the Catalan association of cinematographic Critics and Writers. It qualifies The Man That I Wave At for consideration at @theacademy
It feels completely surreal to have our film win such a prestigious award at the biggest and best genre film festival in Europe. At least 23 people laughed at my jokes in the speech in room of 1300+. Result!
It’ll take some time to sink in. I’m knackered, I have a slightly fuzzy head (beer was consumed) and I’m now waiting for my delayed flight home from Barcelona airport. But honestly I couldn’t be prouder of the team of people that brought this little film together. So along with thanking Sitges for the honour of the award and their hospitality during the festival I would most like to declare my undying gratitude to the cast and crew. Without whom there wouldn’t be massive King Kong statue in my carry on luggage.
Onwards.

Amazing news! We are overjoyed to announce that Picloc has not one but TWO films in this year’s BFI London Film Festival. 🏆🏆
Picloc celebrated its one year anniversary only a few weeks ago - so to have two films screening in one of the world’s biggest and most respected film festivals brings us immense pride and gratitude! Congratulations to our stellar cast and crew. LFF is an event that we look forward to every autumn, and to be attending as filmmakers this time has us getting silly with excitement (swipe for evidence).
First up, *Crab No.7*. This film follows Jennifer, a controlling mother who interferes in her nine-year-old daughter’s audition in order to live out her own dreams. 🦀
Written & directed by @victornauwynck and @shirariya
Produced by @bearalston , @guy.lindley , @leovillaresfilms , & @victornauwynck

A little film with a big heart.
It’s been wonderful to see Opening Up resonate with audiences, with 16 BIFA Qualifying and 6 BAFTA Qualifying festivals and more.
We hope it finds a place in your ❤️ too.

Not only am I chuffed to be part of BFI Network Talent Lab, but I can finally share that Housewarming is going to be screening at BFI London Film festival not once but twice! And even better… the screening is free! So if you are in London near the BFI Southbank on the 12th (I am) or the 19th (I am not) you can catch Housewarming in a cinema. It really is a whole new level watching it in a cinema - maximum tension! Catch it if you can. Tickets can be booked from 10am Thursday though be warned you can book a ticket but it’s first come first served. I have wanted to crack LFF for years, and finally I have. Can not wait.
And just to counter me shouting about all the nice things that have happened today I had to stop two year 11 girls from beating seven shades of shit out of each other, the year 10 class I was covering were nuts and one kid said my new haircut made me look bald 🥺
