It was such a dream to work on this book with @champagne.chef and @figure1publishing to showcase the beautiful dishes and cocktails the @perchottawa team has made over the years. We got to see and experience some pretty special things while we were travelling from coast to coast to visit all the suppliers @perchottawa uses and for that I am so grateful. I can’t wait for you all to get your copies and experience it through our lens.
Also can we all take a moment to appreciate that every single photo has a different (real) surface no vinyl. It was a mission but so worth it.

@girldinner613 absolutely crushed their International Women’s Day dinner at @parlourplace in support of @hopewellottawa .
When I first started cooking in 2006 there were not as many women in the kitchen or in the front of house…THINGS ARE SO DIFFERENT NOW and it’s so beautiful. It makes my heart happy to see all these amazing women supporting each other and making delicious food.
Safe to say I’m obsessed with these photos, and I have a feeling you will be too.
Edit: I used an app to make this carousel post and it made the photos blurry (lame). No one else will care but I like crisp photos haha, so just letting ya’ll know!

People often ask me if I miss working in restaurants.
At times I do…I miss the rush of service, I miss working with a team that becomes your family, and I miss creating dishes. Now I get to take photos of people in their element during service, it lets me stay close to something that was my entire life for almost 15 years.

@ferme_reveuse really stands out from most farmers. Their process, their innovation, their love for what they do is so infectious. I was so grateful to be able to tour their farm while we were shooting the @perchottawa cookbook. All but the cover photo are not in the book, just love them and want to share.

Dreaming of summer with this dish I made for a creative photoshoot late August last year. Scallop crudo, sweet pea, plum, pistachio and marigolds.
Is this natural light or artificial light?
Dreaming of our time in Salt Spring and Kyuquot Sound with @goldeneagleblackcod and @chef_jade_berg while shooting the @perchottawa cookbook. We were lucky enough to experience their day to day, as well as forage oysters on an abandoned whaling station from 1912 and camp in an inlet 100km from any humans. Even though all but one of these photos didn’t make it into the book, I love them nonetheless.

2025 YOU WERE ONE FOR THE BOOKS!
I was on maternity leave this past year, but it’s truly been the most transformative years of my life, both personally and professionally. I’m super pumped for 2026 and what it has in store for Gumption Studio. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!!!
