📕𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘳 is now available in Canadian bookstores and online, and is available for preorder internationally. This book is the result of 10 years spent exploring the Great Bear Rainforest, putting in the time, going back again and again, learning the land, and chasing best light. Every photograph is moment that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Inside, you’ll find photographs of spirit bears, grizzlies, wolves, orcas, and humpbacks - wildlife that depends on this coast and the rainforest. This place is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world, and it deserves to be protected. The book features a foreword by @paulnicklen and an afterword by @douglas_neasloss I’m really proud of how this came together, and I can’t wait for you to get your hands on it, and follow my journey into the Great Bear Rainforest. Hopefully, it steals your heart as it has mine. Beautiful video footage by: @ryantidman and @apreswheeler #booklaunch #spiritbear #britishcolumbia #northamerica #explorebc

Presented in French and English, 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗷𝗮 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗮: 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰̧𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱’𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗿 / 𝗔 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝘁 is the first monograph dedicated to Moridja Kitenge Banza (@moridjakitenge ), a Canadian visual artist of Congolese origin. Known for dynamic works shaped by the places where he has lived and worked, Kitenge Banza’s art is a subversive blend of reality and fiction that questions and challenges discourses of power while opening new spaces for marginalized histories. Chronicling a multidisciplinary practice that includes painting, photography, video, drawing, and installation, this volume presents a comprehensive outline of Kitenge Banza’s artistic practice. Texts by curators, historians, and theorists focus on the geopolitics, culture, religion, and iconography of the artist’s lived context, accompanied by more than 100 artworks. -- 📕𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗷𝗮 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗮: 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰̧𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱’𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗿 / 𝗔 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝘁, published in collaboration with @phi.officiel , is now available to buy in Canada, and is available for preorder internationally.

Coming this spring: 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘳, a striking collection of photography depicting the rugged grandeur of the Northwest Coast’s Great Bear Rainforest. Wildlife photographer and conservationist Jack Plant (@jackjeplant ) has spent the last decade exploring the Great Bear Rainforest in search of spirit bears—the white-furred variant of Kermode bears that are among the world’s rarest animals—and documenting the natural beauty of this coastal habitat. It is a celebration of the spirit bear’s resilience and its wilderness home, and an urgent reminder of the need to protect this special and vulnerable ecosystem. “When you turn the pages of this book, you will not only see stunning photographs—you will feel something ancient stirring. You will understand, in your bones, why this place must endure.” —Paul Nicklen (@paulnicklen ), author of 𝘉𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘐𝘤𝘦 Author 📸: Brian Aikens (@brian.aikens )
