A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday for our Masterclass with @abdul_rahman_abdullah and the accompanying artist talk with @georgina_mills_art !
In the Masterclass, Abdul-Rahman brought his trademark warmth and wit – speaking candidly about his creative career, breaking down funding, finances, and the realities of sustaining a practice at the highest level. It was a rare and generous day with one of Australia's most respected artists.
Guests then joined us for an intimate conversation between Abdul-Rahman and South Australian artist Georgina Mills, reflecting on their experience undertaking the Guildhouse Catapult Mentorship together and how it continues to shape their practices today.
Thank you to Abdul-Rahman and Georgina for sharing so openly, and to our Members and community for being part of it and investing in your practice.
Our thanks also to the teams at The Wyatt Trust and the Art Gallery of South Australia for so warmly hosting us across both venues.

We are excited to share the completion of 'Common Ground' – a new public artwork by South Australian artist @tristan_kerr at Chief Street Pocket Park in Brompton, commissioned by the @charlessturtsa and delivered by Guildhouse Professional Services.
The work spans 260sqm of concrete pathway, transforming a functional walkway into a surface that reflects the history and character of Brompton. The design draws on the suburb's industrial past, local street textures and neighbourhood character, translated into a bold contemporary visual language.
Tristan developed Common Ground in community collaboration with students from Brompton Primary School. Students were invited into the design process from the very beginning by visiting the school to run a hands-on workshop during the concept phase and later welcoming them to paint a section of the mural themselves.
We invite you to visit and take delight in what is under your feet 🎨👣

Last week marked, what would have been, the 100th birthday of Diana Ramsay AO, one of Australia’s most visionary philanthropists.
Her legacy is far-reaching, having a deep impact on the lives of so many individuals and organisations through the work of the James and Diana Ramsay Foundation. Particulary, through her love of the arts, Diana’s legacy continues to empower South Australian visual artists, craft makers and designers and provide unique and nation-leading opportunities for artists to build and sustain their practice.
We gratefully acknowledge the generosity of the James and Diana Ramsay Foundation in backing the careers of six outstanding South Australian artists through The Guildhouse Fellowship, in partnership with the Art Gallery of South Australia. To date artists Troy-Anthony Baylis, Sera Waters, Liam Fleming, Tom Phillips, Kyoto Hashimoto and Michelle Nikou have felt the impact of this incredible investment.
The foundation also shares the joy of art with the people of South Australia, through the Ramsay Art Boat, a floating art work on the iconic Popeye Boat, delivered by Guildhouse. Both the inaugural Ramsay Art Boat by Carly Snoswell, and the current iteration featuring Alice Lindstrom, have brought delight to audiences young and old. Keep an eye out for ‘River Tapestry’ traveling along on the River Torrens (Karrawirra Pari).
