Tucci in Italy Season Two drops in the states tomorrow on Disney Plus. I directed until Stan took over and I went into the edit. The opening Sicilian ptc on Mount Etna was quite the feat, featuring the windiest drone shot I've ever known. A great memory to leave the Tucci-sphere with after three years.

Saddened to hear of the death on April 16th of Andy Kershaw. One of the most accomplished presenters I ever worked with, and a talent who over four films I came to appreciate, despite his being devoid of any trace of camp, a quality I usually enjoy exploiting. And deploying, though to no flicker from hard man K. Seen here in about 1994 for Channel 4's epic Travelog, when we together endured Kyrgyzstan, and in this sequence a dire folkloric opera, shot by DoP Colin Angel in God-forsaken post-Soviet capital Bishkek. Kershaw is legendary for so many qualities: fine journalism, influential music tastes and epic partying. Once, on a Clinton election night, live and alone with a cameraman in Little Rock, Arkansas, the scanner lost touch with him. As engineers scrambled, he filled for 50 minutes. His domestic turbulence caused his partner and family grief and landed him in gaol, but on location at least he was a singular character, a real pro. RIP. #andykershaw @colinangeldop #travelog #domaineproductions #channelfour

Four days ago, an era ended when Daphne Selfe, the original and longest-serving supermodel, her career began in 1947, left the catwalk. Here she is with Caryn in a film we made back in the day with Rankin for All Walks Beyond the Catwalk. Miss Selfe was then only 80ish and darling of the young models. And us. Fake News Shock: some city types have created a pretend BBC newspage about snarly Nigel's spat with BoE chief Andrew Bailey, how the executive ran from the set, with Fiona Bruce stunned. Except it's just the sort of AI confection the Right resorts to to get clicks. An old-skool Brexit-style lie. It's well done, except for the revealing editorial bias that the Right always accuse the Corporation of. Describing Bailey's 'familiar patronising smile' would never get past an editor in a newsroom obsessed with balance. Of course as a wet woke liberal I've probably misunderstood and am quoting out of context. Its real job is selling investment advice, and is just banter, so just a bit of a laugh #bringontheclowns #brexitlies #comeonbbc

As the Green Party becomes the hope of red Manchester, only the revolutionary Tommy Nutter will do. Bought from @johnpearse_tailor , it's wasp-waisted and nippy enough to be the work, I believe, of the great savant coatmaker @joemorgan ##tommynutter #savilerowvintage #chittleboroughandmorgan #vintagebespoke savilerow

Applause to beloved M Kearney CBE, for decades of the sort of pin-sharp journalism so unpopular with populists. Here we are in another century, snapped by beloved Clive Bull. @marthackearney @nationaltreasurechest @chrisshaw @clivebull @lbc @bbc
