To the surprise of no one, the artist I streamed most on Spotify was Death Cab. Over 17,000 minutes of Death Cab to be exact. Which means I’ve spent almost 2 full weeks of my life listening to them. And that’s *just* streaming. I listen to Transatlanticism & Plans in my car on CD most of the time. Yes, my old, busted car has a CD player. Here’s something I’ve never told anyone, and it’s a little sad. It started in 2023 when my cat Sammy died. I turned my car on and the cd I had in was Plans. “Marching Bands of Manhattan,” came on and hit me so hard. I just sat there in my car sobbing, letting myself get immersed in it. I’ve lost 2 of my beloved cats since then and each time I do the same thing. That song is this little catcher’s mitt that takes my sorrow. It doesn’t fix it, it just holds it, and it sits with me. Transatlanticism is my all time favorite album, and seeing it played front to back twice was so incredible. TLDR; I love Death Cab for Cutie and I can’t wait to see them again in July 💗
