Wow thank you so much to @melanie.yugo @jasonskilz @possibleworldsshop and the entire @objectprojectartbookfair team for putting together such an incredible art book fair this weekend in Ottawa! We had so much fun and met such inspiring people, attended some great panels and workshop, caught up with dear friends, and loved it all 🥰. I felt shy about taking photos of people’s tables for some reason or also thought I had taken photos of things but just imagined it in my head, but here are some photos I did actually take: 1. @jasonskilz DJing at the after party at Ten Toes Coffehouse & Laundry 2. @jasonskilz and @melanie.yugo the incredible organizers of the Object Project Art Book Fair 3. The Object / Project team having a group photo taken after the fair ended on Saturday evening. 4. An image on a flat screen of an artist book in the shape of a Jamaican patty by yuki kéké tam @yukitam_ who was leading a workshop titled “Epistolary Episodes: Letter-writing as Art Analysis”. 5 and 6. Photos of yuki kéké tam presenting the workshop and facilitating discussion. 7. A text-based slide on the screen at yuki’s workshop. 8. A view of the garden with the @bouquinistemobile project and music performance space being set-up. 9. Mel Yugo, Jason Skilz and Jamie Northrop at pizza dinner at Pizza Nerds on Friday night. 10-13. Photos from the panel, Holding it Together: Building + Sustaining Collective Publishing Projects, with Jonathan Rotsztain and Jon Iñaki (Pulping), Rita Godlevskis (photoED Magazine) and Izzy Poirier and Ariane Bédard (Ottawa Design Club)., moderated by Benjamin Woo. 14. yuki’s table at the fair. 15. Our B &D Press table 16. @yukitam_ and @spicybabycrab Le Lin after the fair. 17. Folks from the fair at the after party at Ten Toes.

It would’ve been my dad’s 90th birthday today. These are some photos of a trip I took to visit him in Taiwan in 1997. My brother was there for work(?), overlapping the first part of my month there. The visits to see him were always so packed with activity! We’d get up early and be out most of the day. We’d travel to different parts of the island, visit relatives, and eat such affordable and amazing food. I think partway through this trip, my dad had a job interview and I helped him pick a tie and suit from his closet, which felt like a kind of pleasant and funny role play of what some fathers and daughters might “normally” do. We also rowed a boat across Sun Moon Lake, visited Taroko Gorge, hiked through a park in Kenting that had a small cave full of bats. I even remember the splitting headache I got from the sun beating down on us in Kenting. Today I’m wearing another of his shirts, and thinking about him. We are both pretty emotional people and I imagine him getting teary-eyed over himself missing his 90th birthday, which somehow feels a little funny😊 ID: 1. A Taiwanese man with white hair, wearing a life jacket, with misty mountainscape in the background. 2. He’s standing facing the camera on a rooftop with a ton of potted plants, 3. Three people sitting at a restaurant table facing the camera, two with flowers in their hair (my brother and I on either side of my dad). 4. My dad and I in Daan park 5. Two silhouettes against some rock formations 6. A mostly blue shirt with some bright orange and yellowish vertical stripes running through it.

We are super excited to have had our second zine launch’s poster placed as part of the immense Palestine Poster Project Archives. Our ongoing project was inspired by the archive, created and collated by Dan Walsh. He reached out to the lab to let us know, and we hope to have many of the postcard sized art created in workshops and in and out of the lab, archived on the PPPA website in the new year. Special shout out to our fave collaborators @banddpress , the flyer designer extraordinaire @setilism , our vitrine leader and Constellation member Marcela Torres Molano, and zine collaborator and Surrounds member @melinda.pierrepaul . Link to the PPPA entry in our bio. Until liberation, it remains, from the river to the sea, Palestine will be Free 🇵🇸
