Missed deadlines, awkward emails, typo disasters, failed ideas, accidental āreply allsā⦠honestly, itās a miracle any of us are functioning.
So on Wednesday 20th May, weāre embracing the chaos and teaming up with @fuckupnights_glasgow for a night dedicated to celebrating the mess-ups, mishaps and mildly traumatic creative moments that made us who we are today. š„
Join Ross & Greig with Dana & Jonny for an evening of funny failure stories, questionable decisions and the comforting reminder that absolutely nobody has it all figured out.
Expect laughs. Expect chaos. Expect someone to overshare.

No Grubb reputations survived the making of this video.
Last Thursday marked the February instalment of @scottishcreativenetwork ⦠and ONE YEAR of me running it alongside @differentlightphotography š„³
From me watching the first two events with serious FOMO⦠to standing up battling imposter syndrome⦠to now hosting monthly creative chaos weāre genuinely proud of.
We started with Peer Pong. Yes, beer pong energy. No beer. Just daft conversation starters and networking that doesnāt make you want to hide in the toilet š½āØ
A year later and the room is busier, the ideas are bigger, and the connections are so lovely to see. To everyone whoās shown up, shared it, brought a pal, spoken on our stage, or supported us, thank you ā¤ļø Also a massive thank you to the best staff at @thesocialhub.glasgow we are so appreciative of everything you do for us! šš»
Weāve tested ideas, scrapped ideas, laughed a lot, and occasionally finished the night thinking āwhat TF happened?ā in the best way possible š
Big things coming this year š
If youāve been part of SCN, thank you.
If youāve been thinking about it⦠this is your nudge
One thing I definitely did not have on my 2026 bingo card⦠Illustrating ballsā¦Um yeah⦠Those ones.
But here we are. And honestly, what a way to kick off a busy January and its all for a very good cause. š¤£
This was a small project focused on raising awareness of testicular cancer. I had the pleasure of working with @ingramnoble , founder of @hiproductions_ , ahead of his upcoming tour for his play @thenakedneds The illustrations will be used within the play programme and social media.
The tour kicks off at the Pavilion Theatre on April 30th, Iāve got my tickets and Iām buzzing to see it live!! If youāre up for a laugh, go grab tickets to the show.
And if youāre looking for graphic design support in February and you are feeling ballsy about your brand this year, give me a shout. (Sorry not sorry for that pun)

Blether (noun & verb, Scots) š One of my favourite Scottish words.
Long-winded nonsense⦠or a friendly, informal chat.
Iāll be honest, I much prefer the latter.
In fact, I love a blether. š¬
Whether itās networking, catching up over a coffee, or the start of a new project, some of the best ideas and strongest briefs donāt come from perfectly prepared documents. They come from blether. Talking through ideas to start figuring things out.
In networking especially, itās often the blether that starts to build the connections.
So if youāre worried you donāt have a clear brief yet, but you have some ideas⦠thatās fine. If youāre looking to build connectionsā¦
Letās start with a blether and see where it leads.
Grubb Creative is officially 2 years old š
This photo is me, sitting at my dining table, wondering what the hell I was going to do next (also trying to apply to jobs that I wasnāt interested in) after being made redundant just before Christmas. In 2024 I had a wedding to pay for but decided to risk it and to take the plunge anyway.
Two years later, Iām proud that Iāve managed to make this work.
Itās been a journey of learning (and continuing to learn every single day), learning from my mistakes and building a business that feels genuinely aligned with who I am and how I want to work.
Iām so grateful to every client, collaborator who has trusted me, recommended me, or encouraged me along the way. I am also very grateful for the incredibly supportive Glasgow business community, where I have met some of the most inspiring folk. None of this happens alone.
Running Grubb Creative hasnāt always been easy but it has always been worth it. I always say being my own boss is a blessing and a curse.
Hereās to year 3 with more creativity, and seeing where this year takes me.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Prepping content, catching up on finances, updating portfolios, and checking in on projects after being a well-needed lazy shit over the holidays š š»āØ Iām ready for 2026 šš»
I have recently been working on some really exciting branding, that I canāt wait to share. š
There is nothing is more satisfying than seeing it all coming together. Remember, branding is more than just a logo. Its the application across everything, colours, font choices, imagery selection, tone of voice⦠šØ
Here is branding that was completed earlier this year for a new accountancy firm based in Dundee.
When you get to work with brands that just get it and you can have pure FUN with the design brief š
That was exactly the case with @forummevents , an exciting Glasgow-based start-up shaking up the ticketing and events scene šļø
Dan and Hilary, the lovely founders, have been out and about promoting Forumm, and seeing these wacky banners in action honestly makes me smile šš» Nothing better than spotting your work out in the wild!
If youāre after bold event branding or ad-hoc print design that turns heads⦠Iām your guy šš» DM today
A big thank you to the fabulous team at @thesocialhub.glasgow for inviting me along to the Scottish Impact Awards at The Radisson Blu last night. Not a win this time, but in my eyes theyāre already winners. The team are doing such amazing things for the Glasgow community and staying true to their ethos of being kind to the planet. šāØ
Itās wild to think Iām coming up to a year of co-working at The Social Hub. Itās genuinely become my second home. Beyond just having a space to work from, itās the people, the events, the random chats over coffee, and the sense of community that make it such a brilliant place to be. Iāve met so many lovely pals here and had the chance to get involved in some great activities along the way.
Feeling very grateful to be part of such a supportive and creative space. Hereās to the next year of co-working, collabs and connections šā¤ļø
Some Monday morning inspo⦠āØ
A quote I came across this morning that I thought I would share.
š¬ āGood design is like a joke. If you have to explain it, itās not that good.ā
And itās so true. The best design just works. No confusion, no overthinking, it just clicks. Thatās always the aim when Iām working on branding and design projects. Keep it simple, keep it clear, keep it memorable.
Flòr create luxury, bespoke bouquets and arrangements for all kinds of occasions. I had the pleasure of working on the brand identity, which takes its inspiration straight from nature. š
The logo is luxury and modern with a subtle botanical feel. One of my favourite touches is the clever use of the accent above the āòā, incorporated through petal shapes as a nod to the brand name, keeping it simple but unique.
The palette is rooted in deep greens, paired with softer tones like lavender and a bold hit of marigold orange to give it that celebratory feel. Clean neutrals keep everything balanced and let the florals shine.
Every element was chosen to reflect what flowers represent, joy, beauty and connection. A really enjoyable project to bring to life šæ
If your business is ready for a brand identity that feels true to you, letās chat. š¬
