while diving deep into the connections between farmers, native ecologies, and the soundscapes of endemic habitats, we stumbled upon Sanaya and Krishna’s project, Ears to the Ground. this duo is exploring exactly what we’ve been intrigued by, and it’s incredible to see this exploration come to life. 🦜 Ears to the Ground is a trans media project founded by Krishna Jhaveri and Sanaya Ardeshir that investigates listening practice through sound-forward spaces, experiences, installations, performances and community gatherings. we so xcited to have them in the fold 🤲🏽

aural pleasure is right around the corner !! not only will we expand our sensory exploration at this dinner service, but we’re also welcoming a creative duo that inspires us deeply ~ smell, one of our earliest-evolved senses, bypasses the thalamus, the brain’s relay station and travels directly to the amygdala and hippocampus. this connection links scent to memory and emotion in a way no other sense can. since flavor is largely driven by scent, we wonder: what can we evoke by sharing a carefully curated meal? @citizenkna and @sandunesmusic of @groundtotheears will be joining us in complementing, and subverting, our expectations of sound and sustenance. bar menu will be infused with local @tomorrow.la libations more to come :) 💌rsvp thru guestboard link in bio💌

The Medium. Serendipity Arts Festival 2024. Interactive object & site specific sound installation. Curated by @veequine and built in collaboration with @dspax . Poem translated to Braille by Sachin Chikne (Victoria Memorial School for the Blind, Tardeo, Mumbai) . . Grateful for all the hands that have come to play and experience it this week 🙏🏽 Tombstone text below 🔽 A flood of grief flows downstream stillness reflects back a sunbeam time here is brief echoes of a voice it’s grit and timbre sprouting clouds a falling leaf glows amber . . Touch is the very last sensation to ‘go’. As we near the end of our lives, our sensory apparatus starts to wither, we lose our memories, our sight and sense of hearing deteriorates and often connection to family as the knowledge of our very identity gets lost. But often touch stays intact - the last frontier of sensory decay and decomposition. For those of us left behind with family (real or chosen) that have transitioned to their non-physical states, we yearn for the tricks our minds tend to play to be able to hear their voices, or catch glimpses of them as we contend with the absence of their touch. Inspired by the Ouija Board, the Medium invites visitors to explore the interpolation of sound and touch. Through experiments in psychoacoustics, noise, and intentional listening, we’re seeking to unlock new pathways to personal and collective connection with ancestral lineage, emotional inheritance and belonging. . . 2nd last slide for the tartini tones 🫠🫠🫠
