first solo show @ the black gallery @ SJSU
Every Day I See My Dream 🌟〰️🌟
11/12–11/20/2025
Threading posthuman theory, After Effects simulations, 3D animation, digital fabrication, net-art nostalgia, Arduino circuitry, projection mapping, and metal casting, Every Day I See My Dream transforms the gallery into a lucid feedback loop where flesh and interface continually trade places. Sweeping projections of mercury-slick textures and blooming geometries react to every MIDI-triggered gesture, while a hidden camera folds visitors’ images back into the visuals, revealing that our collective gaze keeps the system alive. Opalescent chrome mingles with surreal organic surfaces until slot-machine swipes slow into moments of reflection that ask whether we steer our devices or are steered by them.
At the installation’s heart lies a locket that condenses immersive simulations first produced as a single video designed to weave all components of the work together. These sequences visualize human–AI fusion, a space where flesh and digital code blur into one. By localizing the simulations inside an intimate object, the piece compresses vast computational networks into something personal and tactile. The locket becomes a symbolic interface organ; when worn, it merges body and network so completely that the two can no longer stand apart.

grateful this world came together the way it did.
i’ve been working through a pretty intense health struggle since summer, so there was a lot more I hoped to include… but I’m proud of what made it here.
scroll through + lmk what stands out to you ★~(◠‿◕✿)

🚨‼️disclaimer: I only share ANY of this extremely personal info so ppl know I’m not slacking for no reason. I’m NOT a lazy bitch who can’t handle. I KNOW BALL.
N I still haven’t given up. Do NOT fuck w me. 🫵💥
Yes, I just got out of the hospital again. YES, this disease is truly this debilitating. can’t stress enough that treatment is trial n error. Besides the fact that this illness is chronic / incurable + life threatening at times 😛
I’m so grateful I was able to get some help to stabilize for now. Blessings on blessings. Maybe the entire situation is unfortunate but I’m still luck/y. 🙏❤️🩹〰️❤️🩹
from story but posting here for archive:
obviously no one wants to be sick enough to be in a hospital. they don’t keep u here for no reason 😅
During a flare-up, It’s humiliating existing @ >50% of my abilities while not sleeping for 2 days at a time bc of the pain/urgency on top of my consistent blood loss n inability to absorb nutrients n eventually unable to eat food or drink water. 🚨Treatment is trial n error‼️🚨
Like damn how did I manage esp full time grad, teaching associate + other work. No wonder some hoes still don’t believe me.
lol I’m so back so soon doe
Tbh I’m always here n there
everywhere
appreciate everyone’s support.
means more than u guys could ever know 🥹❤️❤️❤️❤️
Epic 1st Digital Swap Meet @sanjosemuseumofart ! In collaboration with @_zine.baby we traded physical artifacts shaped through digital processes; printed matter, sculptural objects, speculative tools, zines, interfaces, etc.
🌀〰️🌀
In my case, I offered three different works: Maris Kandi with 3D printed lockets (Unlock-Me), From Here to Anywhere, a zine I made for new media creators that gathers art festivals, exhibition calls, grants, residencies, creative spaces, + web tools, starting in San José + radiating outward. 😎💯
And finally, some USBs that hold the first version of my still-together game #threejs. I’m still working on leveling up this game, as well as exhibiting it in an interactive projection mapping experience, but here’s the general idea: Still together is a conceptual art game that stages a passage from claustrophobic surveillance to systemic revelation, using play to foreground the architectures that structure perception.
The project is rooted in my own periods of manic psychosis, when the world appeared recursively mediated. Walls became screens, objects functioned like icons, and I chased cryptic signals toward what I assumed was the true reality I belonged to. Later, reading Krueger on responsive environments, Hayles on posthuman embodiment, and Deleuze on desiring machines, I encountered uncanny theoretical echoes of those same perceptual distortions. The thoughts I had interpreted as private transmissions now seemed to mirror a collective consciousness already articulated in critical discourse. That recognition redirected the momentum of delusion toward production: if the messages emerged from shared cultural circuitry, their energy could be re-channeled into designing media rather than deciphering it. Still together therefore treats destiny not as metaphysical appointment but as workflow. It proposes that the drive to uncover a single, stable truth is itself symptomatic of a media ecology where legibility is partial, agency distributed, and meaning arrives as pattern rather than proclamation.
I’ve never worked on something so personal in my entire life. #realmaris
pics of me r old im skinnier now 💅

healing :)
okay, usually I don’t post stuff about my actual life BUT because this has been such an insane time, AND it’s #chronicillnessawareness month 😛 I’ll share some info w yall. 😎💯 recently I was hospitalized for a flare up w my chronic auto immune disease: #ulcerativepancolitis. this disease is chronic, incurable, unexplainable, invasive, limiting, unpredictable, and completely stigmatized. During a flare-up, it gets to a point where I’m no longer able to eat much of anything or even drink water. I’m serious. general symptoms I experience include: frequent/immediate urgency to go to the bathroom (including @ night: waking up 10+ times just to go), consistent blood loss (including mucus, tissue, bits of human insides), inflammation, pain, discomfort, fatigue, weakness, nausea, heart palpitations, brain fog, weight loss, hair loss, photopsia, etc. my BMI got to 17.1, 101 pounds, to give u an idea.
I’m so grateful I was able to receive care and have been healing steadily! Life is so precious. ❤️❤️❤️
What’s the craziest part of all this is that my condition was even worse last Fall and I still managed to do everything I had to do despite dealing with so much and not being able to receive as much care. 😅
My message to u guys is to prioritize yourself n advocate for ur healing. Thank you all to those who were so supportive and shared kind words with me. It means a lot and I will always cherish that. ❤️🍀🙏
I have good news coming up, so despite all this BS I’ve still been tryna make stuff happen. U guys know that I NEVER GIVE UP‼️‼️‼️

ooo babey’s first museum moment 🫶🏛️
yes my lockets debuted back in September, but they’ll be up @icasanjose until March 22, 2026!
In these images you can see how my lockets are displayed alongside metal casts by my incredibly skilled colleagues. What started as pieces I was making for myself somehow found their way into the show too. Let me tell u how :)
In April, I was working on this okra locket (slide 5) for the Data Trust exhibition by Stephanie Dinkins in a class led by @snebtor . As you can probably tell… it did not come out too well 😭. I planned to remake it over the summer, but I became unwell and physically couldn’t make it happen.
Technically, the casts that did make it into the show weren’t even fully finished (still needed some sawing + polishing), but hey… they made it in :3 🙏
I’m so grateful that my metal casts, Unlock-casted, are part of this incredible exhibition. Huge thank you to everyone at the @sjsufoundry for all the guidance and support along the way 😎💯‼️

Unlock-casted is part of my debut show, Every Day I See My Dream. v conceptual.
The locket stores immersive simulations originally created as a video meant to unify all components of the work at once, visualizations of human AI fusion where flesh and digital code blur into one. By localizing these simulations inside a wearable object, the work compresses vast computational networks into a personal relic.
If the simulations represent a fusion of AI, internet culture, and human embodiment, then the locket becomes a symbolic “interface-organ.” Wearing it enacts the merger: the body is no longer separate from the network, but bound to it.
casting spells w every piece...🗝️✨
clip from live-thru-me - VJing moment w/ my #ae simulations + #blender animations.
A high-octane suite of simulations and animations pours molten textures across the wall, staging a collision of skin and circuitry, while a seemingly empowering MIDI console invites you to “edit” the spectacle. Each pad merely overlays visual effects, reminding us that platform “agency” lives inside a sandbox someone else has drawn. One unlabeled pad flips on a camera, loops your own image into the projection, and completes the cybernetic circuit: viewer becomes content, content measures viewer, and the feedback loop persists.
The loop asks who is dreaming whom. Algorithms sift our micro-gestures like a subconscious sorting memories, surface half-formed longings, then feed them back as bait. We appear to steer the stream, yet it already rehearses our desires and folds them into its next ripple. It feels like REM sleep with metrics: desire slips out as data, reenters from the screen, and guides perception from the outside. Are we directing the vision, or just powering the projector that keeps the simulation alive?
Flight of Promise :)
Projection Mapping with #madmapper
Look left to right, the sequence moves from pure circuitry to living tissue to thinking brain; a quick evolution that asks where technology ends and the body begins. 🌀〰️🌀 The physical objects are 3D prints of my Unlock-me model. The visuals are made with after effects + blender.
Circuit-melt / DNA hybrid
Electric-blue traces race over the wings while a twisting DNA helix glows inside the keyhole; a pulse of crimson tissue flickers beneath, hinting at what lies under every line of code.
Flesh on flesh
Two layered simulations of viscera ooze + ripple, pushing the viewer from electronics into raw biology.
Neural mesh
A shimmering mesh of lime + violet neurons fires across the surface, completing the journey from silicon to skin to intersection...or completion. >:)
Thoughts? :3
