Happy new year! 🎉 Kicking off the year with our origin story 🚀 It was inevitable... but it all started with laughter. 💙 Short version: we made each other laugh, and that was enough to spark something magical. Two kindred spirits spotting each other across the chaos of the universe, thinking, “Yeah, sure. I like you.” 🥹 And just like that, the seeds of GKC were planted. 👩‍🚀🌱👩‍🚀 We bonded over music, film, shared production know-how, and a very specific coincidence: the same middle name (classified intel, obvs).🤐 Soon enough, we set up shop, wheeling and dealing in camel coats and flat caps for anyone craving a sprinkle of marketing magic. 👩🏼‍💻👩🏽‍💻🪄 Then came the first real office… which also happened to be an ice cream shop. 🍦 Great vibes. Questionable for serious calls, unless you enjoy negotiating deals with a scoop of mint choc chip in hand. Eventually, we packed our knapsacks, headed to The Big Smoke, and landed at @somersethouse ! Needing new music and inspiration? Lately we’ve been loving Cillian Murphy’s Limited Edition series on @bbc6music . 💚📟 It feels like listening to our own playlist, just with Cillian Murphy narrating in between. 😆 Featuring artists like Sleaford Mods, Aldous Harding, Lisa O’Neill and Grian Chatten.. just perfect! We loved the full series (three seasons in total) and would highly recommend giving season three a listen on @bbcsounds now! 🎶 We also dipped into the @youtube interviews and enjoyed watching Cillian Murphy wince as Grian Chatten kept reminding him how old he was. 😝 This aside, you can tell the respect they have for each other, and it was interesting to hear more about the intention and production behind each track. Such a great deep dive into process, intention, and the stories behind the sound. RATING LONDON ADS: The good, the bad and the…confusing 👀📉📈 1. La Vie: Great for Greta 🐷 RATING: 9/10. This is how you do brand personality. It’s provocative, visually loud, and leans into a cultural icon (Greta Thunberg) to make a point about veganism without being preachy. The pink is an automatic stop-scroll. 2. National Art Pass: See More, Live More 🎨 RATING: 8/10. Beautiful, warm, and human. Instead of just selling a "discount card," they’re selling the feeling of a weekend well spent. It’s a great example of lifestyle photography doing the heavy lifting for a service-based brand. 3. McDonald’s: Saver Satisfaction ⚽ RATING: 8.5/10. Using the 90s fish-eye "streetwear" aesthetic is a smart move to make a £1.49 burger feel like a lifestyle choice. It’s high energy and perfectly targeted for a quick-glance commute. 4. ASOS: Actor Hayden 📸 RATING: 7.5/10. Clean, premium, and minimalist. It feels more like a high-end magazine cover than a tube ad.
