When we first took over ZTG, I was upset that the website kept saying, “Centrally located!” arguing, “yeah, in the middle of nowhere!” After being here for several months, I have changed my mind! My Monday consisted of a 18-minute drive to Wire Mesa Trailhead for a MTB ride, followed up by a 11-minute drive to @bees_marketplace . Bee’s Markets Place meets big city expectations with a coffee, floral, bakery, beer and wine bar (you can bring outside food into eat!), a deck that over looks the mountains and a commercial kitchen that you can rent out! I was so looking forward to that turkey sandwich! My intuition was telling me stop for a burger at the Chevron in Apple Valley (rumor Is they are fantastic!)….I thought, ‘no, don’t spend money go home, eat healthy!

Tim Miller (Time) beat out Zac in the Hut Church ride!….they were talking smack that @quinntravisss no longer has the KOM on 258…& something about being scared to show up ;).
Next week’s ride Schedule- Wednesday 4:00 PM Hour of Power will start at the shop….bring a MTB. Friday, is @verdevalleycyclistscoalition Friday ride. 11:00AM meet at the shop. Saturdays MTB ride will leave from the shop shortly after. Sunday gravel ride will start Jerome, meet at the Flat Iron Cafe in Jerome and ride down to the Perkinsville Bridge and back….again, meet at 11:00 and leave shortly after. Our plan here in the beautiful Verde Valley is to make bike racing (Mt. and Road) fun, family and community oriented….and to get kids on bikes! Come out for 2 days of racing! How often can you race a crit one day and XC mountain the next?! Wish we knew how to describe the work that has gone into this! The Town of Clarkdale (and several other municipalities!) have been absolutely amazing to work with!….From Parks and Rec to Public Works; from Clarkdale Downtown Business Alliance to Community Development; from the Clarkdale Police Department to the Mayor….they want to see this be successful and continue for years to come!….this community we live in, is amazing! Please support local Arizona racing @az.cycling ! It isn’t very often that you get to race through a historic downtown district, town park, neighborhood while your kids and loved ones are listening to music by @pandyraye59@rayreevesofaz (both days) & @localhoneyreggae (in video), riding in a all-day bike rodeo, provided by @sedonamtbacademy and @wheel.fun , buying from local farmers and artists…or drinking some fantastic local vino and beer provided by @pillsburywine_cottonwood & @smeltertownbrewery ! Food?!….we have you covered with great local food trucks @madhoneyfoodtruck & @sidewalkgrillaz@hermosillohotdogs_ ! Come out help us pay for this barricade/road closure plan and build Phase 2 & 3 of @clarkdale_jerome_rams mountain bike course!….hopefully a future short track! And we have camping!

Damn June bugs eating our peaches….but it made for a cool photo. This year we have Pink Pearl Apples, Asian Pear, about 1500 Granny Smith’s, peaches (really really good) and the pecan are starting to come in! Hopefully next year’s harvest will be more fruitful!….With apricots, variety of apples and planting table grapes this fall. Let’s go @az_wegz !…..time to make cider and warm apple pie 🥧
Golf courses in the desert have always raised an eyebrow for me….especially in the Verde Valley….but watering dirt?!….on a windy day, mid-morning?! 🤦🏾♂️ I pass this golf course often and rarely see anyone on it. I struggle to understand the point of this! I wonder, is the juice worth the squeeze?!….keep it up and there won’t be any juice.
We are coming up on 2 years of being the new owners of Verde Valley Bicycle Company here in Cottonwood and we decided to mix it up a little and change out the logo and street sign. Thank you to @quinntravisss for helping with the design (he has a good eye and listens to what the client is looking for), thank you to @rangel.jared and your C n C machine for the building process (Jared and I have been working together for close to 30 years now and he is like a brother to me!). Thank you to The Lonnie Anderson and Kevin (no SM) for helping with the install! They were driving by on their motorcycles, stopped to say hi and ended up helping! We love our community and the new things that are up and coming here in Verde Valley!!! #minitucsontraininggrounds ….#comingup
