I'm playing the Trout Forest Music Festival this week. Friday night with my band (Derek Hogue and Alan Gardiner this time around) and then a couple of solo appearances on Saturday and Sunday. I haven't played this festival since 1999. In honour of the occasion we'll be playing 90 percent or more of my 1999 album Balanced on a Pin. Festival details here - /
Greg MacPherson has been making records and touring since 1996. Independent throughout the ’90s, MacPherson joined the fiercely political Winnipeg imprint G7 Welcoming Committee Records in 2001, releasing three critically acclaimed albums, touring with many of the label’s cornerstone bands and earning a reputation as a performing artist and songwriter. MacPherson makes innovative, boundary-pushing rock music, reaching listeners in a wide variety of places, from punk rock basement shows to folk festivals to indie rock night clubs. Three of MacPherson’s recordings have been long listed for the Polaris prize.

After many requests (thank you) this album is now available on a wide range of streaming sites. Recorded in the days leading up to 9-11 at Chemical Sound in Toronto, and then odds and end added at Private Ear in Winnipeg, this was released by G7 Welcoming Committee Records in March 2002. It’s been out of print for many years.
The band for this one: Steve Bates, Jason Tait, Barry Mirochnick.

Hey, my good friend Cam Loeppky had his recording studio broken into 4 times this year. His insurance only covered a tiny amount of what was stolen/destroyed. A few of us are passing this virtual hat around to see if our community can help him piece his work life back together. Please share and if you can, donate a few bucks. https://gofund.me/9d985aa1 link also in my profile
