Vienna, April 23–24. What’s Up Vienna! What’s Up Montréal! returns to Echoraum with two nights of performances bringing together artists from Vienna and Montréal across experimental music, sound art, and live audiovisual work. First launched in 2010 and curated by Michaela Grill, Christof Kurzmann, and Steve Bates, the series continues to create space for collaboration between the two cities, with an emphasis on exchange and performances that take shape in the moment. This year’s edition features several Constellation-associated artists, including Sophie Trudeau, Elizabeth Anka Vajagic, Steve Bates, and Mark Molnar, alongside a wider group of musicians and visual artists from both cities. April 23, 2026 — Echoraum, Vienna @echoraum_wien • Sophie Trudeau @roadhitter / Michaela Grill @analogma29 • Stephanie Castonguay / Gabriela Gordillo • Mark Molnar @imarkmolnar / Noid / Martin Brandlmayr @martin.brandlmayr April 24, 2026 — Echoraum, Vienna • Mark Molnar / Sara Zlanabitnig • Elizabeth Anka Vajagic / Steve Bates @bates_steve / Christof Kurzmann Across both evenings, the program moves between improvised music, electronics, and live image work, with artists pairing up across disciplines and geographies. I wish this country could call a genocide a genocide. Israel is a genocidal state. It’s part of Canada’s history too. Let’s call it and recognize it and deal with it and resolve this fxcking horrible mess.

Just 2 more weeks to apply! The open call for Radio Elsewheres [re.03] closes on July 1, 2025. Radio Elsewheres (RE) invites artists, musicians, writers, poets, journalists, storytellers, and other agents and witnesses to share their projects and experiences on air through words and sound. We are looking for audio works exploring themes of borders, movement, displacement, conflict, and migration. Submissions may include sound art, ambient recordings, radio documentaries, radio dramas, interviews, radio essays, DJ sets, music, sonic experiments, or other audio-based works. Content can be broadcast live or recorded in advance. After Bihać and Sarajevo, [re.03] lands at Art Windsor-Essex (Canada) from October 16 to November 5, 2025, as part of Velibor Božović’s solo exhibition Elsewhere, on Record. While Radio Elsewheres is open to global contributors, [re.03] places special emphasis on voices from or passing through the Windsor–Detroit region — a place historically marked by both connection and division. From the Underground Railroad to Indigenous land and water stewardship, from industrial migrations to contemporary border tensions, this region offers a vital lens through which to explore what it means to cross, belong, resist, and reimagine at the edge of nation-states. Through this edition, we invite sonic reflections on these layered and evolving border realities. Submit your audio pieces by July 1 Link in bio Curated by Velibor Božović, Steve Bates, and Claudia Zini, with support from Emily McKibbon and @artwindsoressex . #RadioElsewheres #re03 #OpenCall #SoundArt #Borders #Displacement #ArtWindsorEssex
