What started as an experiment by our Product Development & Production Manager has quickly become a practical solution for productions and work sites, transforming our storage containers into solar arrays capable of charging our battery units directly on site.
With 18 x 480W panels, we can charge a GV 10K Kube in under 2 hours and generate up to ~8 kWh on our larger units. Even on extremely cloudy days, the system still produces around 6 kW per hour continuously.
We’re especially excited that our units can now be charged using clean solar energy before they even leave us, meaning the products we rent and sell are already powered more sustainably from day one.

We’re thrilled to have our equipment support the latest instalment of the hugely successful Peaky Blinders franchise with The Immortal Man. Our co-founder, Adam Baker shares a few notes on how the equipment was used during production 👇.
“At a large dockyard location, we needed power to build lighting rigs and set up control systems in preparation for a major special-effects explosion. Under normal circumstances, this would have required running a generator 24/7 simply to test and monitor whether our systems were working. By using Voltstacks, we were able to run them like a UPS, saving several hours of operating large 200kVA diesel generators before the shoot.”
