Chapter by Chapter Roadmaps out!
This week, I went to @notionhq ās Developer Tools launch party in Toronto. š
I met a room full of builders, product people, and community members, all looking to leverage Notion more in their day-to-day activities.
For years, Iāve been using Notion daily for a gratitude journal. What started as simple lists turned into an operating system for my business, AL Media, and grew to much more than simple checklists. ā
This year, Iāve experimented a lot more with Notionās built-in agent tools, treating databases more as a dialogue than a static spreadsheet.
This step alone has been a huge mindset shift and rocket fuel for my specific applications.
Seeing where the product is headed with agents and external data sync made me realize Iām still probably using about 10% of whatās possible.
Curious how other small business owners are using it. Let me know below. š
If youāre looking to learn more about Notion, check out my workshop at @wishbonearlab during @torontotechweek , āCreate More with Less: AI-fueled content and effective video,ā 6 pm - 8 pm on May 27!

Had the opportunity to attend @cdnmarketing ās futureproof event yesterday, co-hosted with @lg2canada š
A full day focused on how marketers cut through noise in an era of infinite choice, AI disruption, and fragmented attention.
Great conversations with, among many others,
š Laura Pearce (Head of Marketing, Google Canada)
š Letty Wong (Digital Marketing Consultant, UGC specialist)
š Gabriel Arenshtam (Member Engagement Manager, CMA)
The calibre of professionals in the room reinforced something I keep seeing: Canadaās marketing community is operating at a leading edge, driving innovation in AI technologies and ethically responsible communication.
Grateful for the connections and looking forward to continuing these conversations with an impressive room of talented marketers!
Swipe to end to see a sneak peek of CMAās rebranding and fresh look. šš„

Canada doesnāt talk enough about how strong its marketing community actually is. š
Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with a room of Chartered Marketers at the Canadian Marketing Associationās Chartered Marketerās (CM) + CEO luncheon.
The conversations were a great reminder of why this industry matters more beyond integrated campaigns and content calendars.
The discussion centred on CMA + Signal49 Researchās new report āUncovering the Value of Marketing in Canada.ā
The numbers are worth knowing:
ā”ļø Marketing contributed $131 billion to Canadaās GDP in 2024.
ā”ļø Nearly 1 in 25 jobs is a marketing role.
ā”ļø 75% of Canadian marketers are using generative AI weekly, more than any other knowledge profession in the country, including scientists.
Community, mentorship, and shared standards are what elevate a profession from a job category into something that moves our country forward.
Thank you to the @cdnmarketing and @charteredmktr for continuing to build that movement.

Happy Earth Day 2026! š
The most sustainable thing you can build in a business is a system that does not depend on you being everywhere at once.
Recently, I got early access to the ultimate planning tool to further bridge that gap, @stanleyforig (for X)
They took a creative strategic content playbook and the latest model by @claudeai and put it in your iMessage, where it works as your $5k/m personal business coach.
Leveraging an accountability tool that can interact with you helps you stay on the important work and key daily goals.
Intentional. Lean. Directed.
That is what sustainable creation looks like to me. Stanley for X is now officially launched today on @producthunt so check it out! š

Is us saying goodbye to Sora actually a win for the planet? š
@openai just announced they are pulling the plug on their video app and extension, Sora. While they didnāt give a specific reason, the data behind the scenes tells a story of unsustainable math.Ā
Recent MIT research (2024/2025) reveals the hidden cost of our obsession with the access to instant creativity:
ā”ļø One AI Image: Uses as much energy as a microwave running for 5 seconds. šæ
ā”ļø One Short AI Video: Can consume as much power as a microwave running for over an hour. ā”
As an environmentalist entrepreneur, I have to ask: is āgood enoughā AI content worth this massive carbon debt?
Data centers are on track to consume 1,400 TWh by 2030. OpenAIās pivot suggests that even the biggest players are hitting a resource wall⦠š¬
The real opportunity is really reinvesting in high-value, human-made video.
Are we over-relying on compute-guzzling shortcuts when real storytelling has a better ROI?

The bad news:
No one is coming to build your life for you.
The good news:
You donāt need anyone to start.
Most people donāt fail because life is unfair.
They fail because they stop showing up. š«„
Not dramatically.
Not all at once.
Just slowly, quietly⦠until momentum disappears. š
We like to blame timing, luck, even other people.
But most of the time, itās ourselves weāre avoiding. š
Showing up for yourself isnāt loud.
Itās repeating the same small actions when no one is watching.
Itās doing it when it feels pointless.
Itās doing it when you donāt feel ready. š
Whatās one thing youāve been putting off that you know would move you forward?
Iām a huge believer in repurposing your wins. š
Youāre often told to show up, but we rarely talk about what happens after the stage lights go down. š¦
The real marvel is not in the spotlight, but in the systems you build to leverage the opportunities. šŖ
Recently, Iāve felt that idea come to life through repurposing clips from my TEDx Talk on elephant conservation, here discussing their declining populations, a subject Iām passionate about. š
What was an in-person public engagement event can now live on, because I put in processes to edit, re-frame, and share the message again. š
A moment youāre proud of shouldnāt have an expiration date. ā
Hereās a recommended Strategy:
1ļøā£ Show Up: Do the hard thing once (The TED Talk, the personal trip, the local vlog in public, you do you).
2ļøā£ Repurpose: Break it down into lessons. Structure > chaos.
3ļøā£ Leverage: Use a templated ststem so you arenāt always starting from zero. Double down on what works.
If you make your systems work for you, the long-term benefit is massive. ā³
You can still aim to create ānewā outcomes every day, while still honouring the great things youāve already done. ā
Your achievements are a gold mine. Stop letting them collect dust. āØ

1,234 days of Duolingo. š¦š„
What started as a simple language app before traveling turned into a schooling in product design and habit building. š
Somewhere along the way Iāve tried learning 10+ languages, forgotten a few phrases, picked some back up⦠and now Iām relearning chess. āļø
Duolingo has quietly built one of the most successful learning platforms in the world through:
ā relentless A/B testing
ā behavioural science and gamification
ā AI-powered learning at scale
ā a culture that encourages experimentation
The Result?
š 116M+ monthly users.
š 5B+ market cap valuation.
š New languages and skills are always being added.
Also⦠it turns out practicing every day actually works to survive your own pronunciations.
Small habits compound.
Now, if youāll excuse me, the owl is watching.

@igloofest_mtl is a masterclass in transforming notorious noise into world-renowend culture. š
Long before Igloofest became a winter staple, the team was busy rewriting the rules of Montrealās electronic music scene with @piknicmtl Ćlectronik. š¶
They took a subculture often relegated to the shadows and placed it in the Sunday afternoon sun of Montrealās Parc Jean-Drapeau.āļø
Nicolas and his team overcame decades of prejudice by proving that electronic music could be a pillar of sustainable leadership, family-friendly engagement, and massive economic impact. šø
In my upcoming conversation with the co-founder Nicolas Cournoyer, we explore how they built a scene from the summer heat of Piknic to the winter chill of Igloofest. āļø
Iāvet always been amazed and impressed by how they convinced the world that the alternative techno scene could actually be a blueprint for world-class event production. šæ
Stay tuned for 2026ās debut video interview of @sustainablekindshow where weāre going behind the curtain of an iconic Canadian music fest. š
