Constructed from plywood, the pieces underwent an intense staining and weathering process to give them the appearance of more luxurious burl wood — an illusion that brought to mind the visual trickery that Mongiardino incorporated into the space with, for example, glass panels around a fireplace painted to look like marble.” @monicanina
