You all ever been to Eastern Metal Plumbing Supply??? I go there from time to time for things I'm working on at the shop and I gotta tell ya... These folks are tops. I can go in there with a rough idea of what I want to do and these fellas will straight up put all the pieces together right before my very eyes. Here are some pics of me on a recent visit with some dry lips I guess I should a had more water that day or maybe I was having trouble accessing water BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THE CORRECT PLUMBING SUPPLIES. That's the importance of what these folks do. THEY MAKE IT SO YOU CAN DRINK CLEAN WATER AND EVACUATE THE DIRTY STUFF TO THE SHIDDY TIDDYS DOWN THE STREET. Being the oldest plumbing supplier in Brooklyn I wonder what percent of Greenpoint's pipes came from them. Even if you're not interested in plumbing just go and visit them, they're genuinely the nicest funniest people you'll want to meet. IF YOU GO HOWEVER BE WARNED. The sign in the window says NO PARKING IN FRONT OF ROSIE'S STORE and you'd be wise to observe because she is not interested in putting up w your foolishness.

Gotta say Faruque down the street at @faruques_gift_shop is one a those guys that no matter what every time I see him he makes my day better. When I first started here every time I passed by I would see him and thought he was maybe always mad or something cuz he has a face when it’s relaxed just sorta looks that way. But then lemme tell you as soon as you make this dude smile everything changes and you would have ta be a hard hearted human if it didn’t brighten your life a little. Now we’re proper chums and I try to make his day better too whenever I can mostly just by saying what’s up with enthusiasm when I’m passing by. He was gone for a minute but now he’s back and I’m glad for that he literally just offered me apple slices I mean come on
Above the fold in the Sunday NY Times this past week !! Can’t believe it 🤯🤯 Thank you to Ralph Jones, a guy across the pond I’ve never met but who captured in a couple quotes the essence of why our trade is so valuable. This is the second time this year I’ve been asked to talk to someone in the press about the shop and why it matters, and I gotta say it was pretty nerve wracking. In the end I just decided to blab as many thoughts as I could in a way that felt fun and true in the hopes the right words stuck, and it worked! If you haven’t read the article I tried to include as much of it as possible here, but it’s still accessible on the Times site or if you happen to find a stray copy lying around. Otherwise come in to the shop and you can read it once it’s framed 😋😋😉😉😊😊😎😎
WOWOWOW hello again from North Brooklyn and beyond !! Been a while since we last updated here but there has been SO MUCH HAPPENING we can’t hold back the killer content any longer. 2023 was a WILD YEAR for us with the shop expanding and updating its current and future location 937 MANHATTAN AVENUE in the bright and sunny Greenpoint neighborhood. With this expansion we have FINALLY begun to produce IN HOUSE FROM SCRATCH some of the most elegant hardwood frame profiles crafted under the extremely rigorous eye of master framemaker @talbnavi 😊😊😊😊 We’re looking forward to sharing with you photos of those frames soon, but for those of you who have already seen them YOU KNOW HOW EXCELLENT THEY ARE. I couldn’t be more proud of the team for the effort they’ve put in to making this dream a reality. NEXT BUT NOT LAST AND CERTAINLY NOT LEAST for the second year running we’ve been chosen as the BEST OF NEW YORK by none other than @nymag . Thank you @nymag for so perfectly capturing the essence of what makes our shop so special to us, and for making Adam look so cute in their illustration 🥰🥰🥰🥰. SO MUCH MORE TO COME SO KEEP IT LOCKED ON THIS STATION FOR MORE UPDATES!!!
