At its core, Matilda’s (@matildasallday ) is less about making an impression and more about creating a feeling. It’s a place that gently encourages you to slow down, settle in, and stay longer than you intended. That kind of experience doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of thoughtful decisions, layered details, and a clear understanding of what hospitality can be when it’s done well. Step inside the space made to linger at the link on our profile. A huge thank you to everyone who made our Douglas Walker Park 🌳 tree planting a success! From planting large trees to mulching and site cleanup, this effort was powered by incredible groups including Gordon Food Service, Total Package Hockey Academy, E3 Compliance, PwC, Ernst & Young, Farmers Insurance, Barton Marlow, Byron Center North Star students, and Grand Rapids Chair Company—along with many dedicated individual volunteers. This project was supported by a special DTE Energy Foundation Tree Planting Grant through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, funding 25 trees, matched with an additional 30 trees, courtesy of a donation from the Grand Rapids Chair Company. Your time, teamwork, and willingness to jump in made a lasting impact on this park and our community. 🙏

A better environment starts with the spaces we create and the choices behind them. At Grand Rapids Chair, making spaces more comfortable, welcoming, and healthy has always been the goal. Our approach to sustainability is simply an extension of that—thoughtful decisions, responsible materials, and a commitment to creating products that support a more hospitable planet for all of us. This Earth Day, we’re taking a moment to reflect. Our Sustainability Report highlights the progress we’ve made and where we’re headed next—from small wins to meaningful momentum, all grounded in a commitment to do better for our people, our communities, and the planet. Because good design should do more than look good—it should do good, too. Explore the full report at the link on our profile to learn more.

There are cafés you pop into, and then there are cafés you accidentally spend your entire day in. Matilda’s All Day Café (@matildasallday ) was designed, very intentionally, to be the latter. Explore the space that was made for lingering in our latest blog post—link in profile description. Interiors: @needtoknowdesign Photography: @roehnerrr

Same Alfred—New Era Originally a nod to the ‘70s bucket chair, Alfred wood taps into the tailored influence of the 1960s—a little more architectural, a little more refined, and undeniably warm. It’s not a redesign. It’s a material evolution. Rediscover Alfred today at the link in our profile description. #interiordesign #designinspo #commercialinteriors #hospitalitydesign #furnituredesign
