“Your Mom” a new painting 70” x 44” is part of a series of Earth Paintings made during this righteous sabbatical. Studio shots show some other Earth paintings as well. Grateful for this time after 15 years teaching @prattfineart I’ve made a lot of new work and made plans for a new show in Berlin that opens in July. Showing a completely different body of work @moist_roomtoswingacat Thanks to @hollislovesyou and all my friends for your understanding. #hermitartist

Everybody we have ever loved We have got to ratchet this country down and zoom out. How insane does it have to get? Put in 90 mins on this today thinking about paintings as windows and signs. Thinking about how a zoom out could help us. Work in progress. 33”x33” oil and acrylic on linen

Found this painting from deep pandemic times - made @schneidermoa Buckminster Fuller thinking seemed / seems like the kind of comprehensive change necessary to get away from a reactionary world toward a coherence. I used cut outs from La Croix boxes to write La La La.

I’m back teaching Grad Painting and printmaking at Pratt and I’ve been looking through the archives. These are paintings I made just before the pandemic that use print that showed these interior lives of dark subjects. I never got to show them because they were sold or boxed up. They seem right for this era. So I’m showing them here. You want it darker?

“In New York, if I want to see my friends, I have to work with them.” Peep Space is pleased to present Grayson Cox: Nepo Maybe, a group exhibition curated by artist Grayson Cox. The exhibition explores the tension between earned opportunity and social proximity—what some might call nepotism—and reimagines it as a gesture of care, reciprocity, and magnetism. Informed by Lewis Hyde’s notion of the “gift community,” the show proposes a space where the circulation of meaningful objects becomes a form of generosity and mutual recognition. Cox invites artists with whom he has recently shared moments of connection—some deep, others fleeting—to contribute artwork that carries personal meaning. These offerings may be small, poetic, transactional, or experiential. Some are for sale, some are for giving, and others are simply to be shown. Yasmeen Abdallah, Gregory Amenoff, Sarah Anderson, Imogen Aukland, Marguerite Bailey, Amanda Baker, Glen Baldridge, Itziar Barrio, Natalie Beall, Michael Berryhill, Jess Blaustein, Daniel Bozhkov, Noah Breuer, Monica Carrier, Blake Marques Carrington, Jacqueline Cedar, Chloe Scout Nix, Angela Connant, Paloma Crousillat, Jeremy Dine, Kelly Driscoll, Courtney Dudley, Stella Ebner, Katherine Evans, Brad Ewing, Nadja Frank, Michael Gaillard, Mark Gens, Glenn Goldberg, James Gortner, Langdon Graves, Raphael Griswold, Eric Ramos Guerrero, Barry Hazard, Giorgio Handman, Volker S Hueller, Elizabeth Insogna, Aram Jibilian, Lou Joseph, Ayesha kamal khan, David Kennedy Cutler, Jon Kessler, Alison Kudlow, Anne-Marie McIntyre, Donna Moran, Nazanin Noroozi, Wilhelm Neusser, Iviva Olenick, Lauren Pakradooni, Erin Perrazzelli, Ben Quesnel, Henry Rosenberg, Alex Russi, AV Ryan, Lara Saget, Emma Schwartz, Edgar Serrano, Jeremy Shaeffer, Steve Shaheen, Louise Sheldon, Dasha Shishkin, Mae Shore, Felix Shumba, Lior Shvil, George Skoufas, Jackie Slanley, Ujin Song, Jomar Statkun, Christine Stiver, Jacquelyn Strycker, R.
