Putting together this performance for Arcana was an odyssey. This year has been an especially difficult one. Chaos has reigned in my life in a very real way. There was strife, darkness, and solitude in abundance. The pathway through was opaque at best and a fiery guantlet at worst. I've had some of my highest highs and lowest lows within a monthlong span. This tumult led me to Hi, Ren by @renmakesmusic . In it, I found solidarity and catharsis. I recognized myself in his struggle, as have many others who have stumbled on his music. When @chatt_circus_collective settled on the Tower and Star cards as our theming for the show, it felt like the perfect storm. They immediately leaned into my admittedly ambitious vision for the piece, and empowered me to see it through. I'm still hung over from the vulnerability and love of it all. Thanks to everyone who helped us make this a reality - so much sweat and grit.
