Jean Caffeine is an Austin-based songwriter and visual artist who famously drummed for Pulsallama, the 1980s NYC no-wave percussion ensemble that opened for The Clash. Known for her witty storytelling, she has since fronted her own projects and released acclaimed solo records like Generation Jean.

Clockmaster is a
1 part documentary love letter to the late Southwest Museum of Clocks and Watches and the wonderful people who ran it,
1 part film essay on time and history in the area,
and 1 part personal memoir (because it’s personal).
This project began in August 2024, when I met clockmaker apprentice Luca Newkirk at Arts n Crafts one evening. I started filming at the museum shortly after, and the rest is history.
