On January 1 2022, some good friends and I decided to start the year above the clouds. Since then I've fallen in love with this yearly ritual. To me this is communion, it is ceremony. To know a place intimately, year after year, through all different weather is a blessing I cherish. Before we descend we share some words that we use as a guide for the rest of the year...and break bread together afterwards. To all of you who have shared these moments with me, thank you for bringing so much richness into my life despite time and distance. It is a privilege to know you, and to know this land that is my relative and home.
A couple months ago, @steadyarchives invited me to summit Mt. Baldy on a run with new friends. Running keeps exposing me to so many bad ass people, incredible places, and a sense of existence I don't get with anything else. I am so grateful.

On June 6th I checked off a bucket list item...I ran the McKenzie River 50k!!!! Oregon's oldest ultra marathon 🫶🏽
Let's see, I ate dirt twice (2!!), once at mile 9 and again at mile 18. Aid station pickles rule. I danced for the drumline every time I passed them. I ran 5hrs and 40mins with just ~1hr of walking which is HUGE for me. I've never experienced the forest getting this fkn hot in June. I also got to do it with some homies from LA who also got to meet my family and it filled up my cup to the brim. Unfortunately that same day is when the LA federal kidnappings started and it felt weird to celebrate. But here I am almost a month later, feeling so grateful for these opportunities.
Some highlight runs from the last 6 months. Running always brings me back into mutuality with the land. I feel so human when I'm out on the trail. #globalrunningday
out on the road, feet moving me through space, conversing with myself conversing with the land. gratitude for the run, and for these incredible people I got to share this with.
