Climbing the tree and eating lychees is a core memory I have of my village. Me and my siblings often used to sleep there for hours. Always wanted to make something for that memory. So here it is!!

Life has been pretty normal, mundane and peaceful lately. Working on finishing my short film, illustrating, gaming, going to markets with my maa and teaching myself to play a new instrument is all I have going on. But as they say (I don't know who), there's another kind of beauty in the mundane. My room has yellow walls and blue curtains and when sunlight passes, it creates a really cozy and warm mood. So, it felt good to paint that feeling.

I've always been a bit under confident while painting any nature based landscapes. These color studies have certainly helped me get more confident and have also also improved the way I use colors. However, I want to get more experimental and playful in future with colours and lighting.

Every painting starts with figuring out the composition and values. For this one I wanted to explore some snowy landscapes but every idea felt really bland and unnatural. To get out of this situation, I focused on telling a small story through the scene and suddenly, my vision became much more clearer. It was meant to be a really small piece but these small pieces can become a good place to develop a strong process. Intent matters a lot and a clear intent can solve a lot of technical issues.

Sooo, a post after a looong time. As I've graduated now, surfing through my gallery feels really emotional now. I was allocated room 109 when I came to NID, and I finished my Grad project in room 409. My room was always filled with happiness, laughter, chaos and lots of music and it was all because of these people, my brothers. Thank you everyone and I love you all !!!

More gouache!! (Part-2)
Gouache is so far my favourite wet media material to work with. The last slide has my first 2 paintings, which were total failures. After studying about the material I'm working with, I kinda figured out that all I need is a process to follow that is, either I go from lighter values to darker values or vice-versa and sometimes it really depends on the piece that you're painting. Once I figured that out, gouache became more fun to work with.

Me is learning gouache (Part-1)✨ all of the colour studies are done in 30 to 60 min time duration on an A5 sketchbook so judge accordingly 🥲 feedbacks are welcome ✨
Grad Project has been stressing me out lately so I wanted to learn something completely unrelated to it and voila, enter gouache... I did almost 11 paintings in the last 15 days... I'm trying my best to stay consistent!!
And also the first painting is my personal favourite amongst all 11... Sometimes this campus looks really beautiful...and it's all because of the people I've met and the memories I've made!!
