This was the night we were stranded with no cash and had no choice but to eat some real shady chicken rice in the streets of Hong Kong. After walking in and out of several shops, this was the one shop that would accept credit card but they had a minimum spend. Our two plates of bloodbath chicken rice didn’t meet the minimum and there was no way we were going to buy more food from that shop. Thank god for Tsingtao beer. We paid and we stepped across the street to ponder what we were going to do next. As seen in the photos, we needed a breath of fresh air as we reflected.
The streets teach man many valuable lessons.
The streets teach a man resilience, like the hard-worn cobblestones beneath his feet. Empathy blooms in the cracks of the pavement, a testament to the shared struggles and silent hopes. It is in the heart of the streets, he learns to appreciate the skies.

Svet - In the fleeting moments of interactions with Slava, I came to realise that she does not speak English and only understands Russian. As I attempted to communicate to her how I wanted her to interact with the light, it slowly became a quiet dialogue between light and form; between what I wanted to capture and what she wanted to express.
Every frame a soft rebellion, a whisper of strength beneath stillness. These photos were not just portraiture. It is presence. “Svet” — refers to light in Russian.
