I have always loved beauty and for me, that has naturally extended to styling beautiful spaces that make me feel good living in.
When I started styling my home, I realised how easy it is to get overwhelmed knowing where the hell to start. There are so many styles and decor pieces that might look gorgeous on their own, but bringing everything together so the space feels cohesive is a real art form.
So I wanted to share the process that really helped me define my style:
1. I started with
@pinterest (literally my BFF)
I created a home board and searched broad terms like home interiors, pinning anything I was drawn to. I didnāt overthink it, I just saved what felt like me.
2. I used AI to identify the patterns
Once I had a solid board, I took screenshots and uploaded them into AI to analyse the images and tell me what interior style was coming through. It helped me spot common themes in colours, textures and shapes. For me, it was very clearly Mid-Century Modern.
3. I broke each room into its own board
Once I understood my style, I created separate boards for each space so I could get intentional about how each room would look and feel. Even down to the little decor pieces Iād search for in vintage stores, op shops and Facebook Marketplace.
4. I built a colour and texture palette
This was a game changer. For me, it was neutrals, marble, timber and wool to create warmth, texture and softness. This is key in a neutral palette.
5. I focused on the feeling
More than anything, I kept asking myself how do I want each space to feel? Calm, elevated, warm, lived-in. That became my filter for every decision.
I truly believe creating a beautiful home is less about trends and more about creating a space that feels like an extension of you. I even framed black and white photos of both my grandparentsā wedding days instead of filling my walls with meaningless art.
Let me know if youād like me to share how I source amazing pieces on Facebook Marketplace and furniture outlets š„°
