On the eve of 420, before we celebrate we must remember the harm and violence of cannabis repression. We acknowledge that there are still 1000’s of people locked up in federal prison, and 1000’s more arrested each year in our country for cannabis offenses, the majority of whom are from communities of color. We call for an end to the Drug War. We call for education, science, and humane policies!

In this section of @vipervaudeville , @iamtwicelight embodies the story of a veteran who had served in Afghanistan. Like many veterans, upon his return he struggles with PTSD and a lack of support services. Also like many veterans, he finds relief in cannabis. We want to honor the many advocates across the country who have championed access to cannabis for veterans. Twice uses his skill and soul as a Krump dancer to embody this story. In the summer of 2018 @vipervaudeville did its first work in progress concert in NYC at the legendary @nublunyc supported by @herearts This was the start of a journey that led to the premiere at @lamamaetc in 2022! As we begin a year of performances, screenings, talks, and events building momentum towards the return of our full production to NYC, we invite to where it all began for a special full band performance featuring composer and vocalist @graceface_killah , @duvmusic and @babaisrael at the Lift Up on April 27th! Grace Galu Kalambay is a vocalist, actor, guitarist, and composer. She combines the sounds of her Irish and Congolese heritage with her LES upbringing in a soulful and gritty twist. Kalambay was recently featured in Buskerball 2022, and recorded Firelight with Fearless Music.
