Hello 👋 I’m Grace of Grace Eva Cakes, the lady who made this cake for my shop’s Christmas window display! The making of my Home Alone cake…when I remembered to film it 😂 I get so engrossed in my work that I always forget to capture more from the start! 👩‍🍳 Made for my shop’s Christmas window display, for my local community to enjoy as they go about their festivities! 🎄 Vanilla sponge cake, dark chocolate ganache, carved to scale, patience in abundance, so many tiny details and all hand painted 🖌️ 4 weeks of planning, baking, carving, ganaching and decorating squeezed into 56 seconds! I wish I had someone who could be with me through the whole process to film every little bit! 🎥 I don’t think I’ll ever get over this cake! Merry Christmas ya filthy animal! 🏡 ✨ Here it is… my 2025 Christmas window display! A bucket list cake for me ticked off my list and what a way to pay homage to the best Christmas film Home Alone. Home Alone celebrated turning 35 years old this November, the same month I did 🎈it was only right that I made this iconic scene! This cake sits proudly in my shop window for the local community to enjoy and spot lots of elements from the film I made from cake and sugar! This will forever be one of my favourite cakes I’ve ever made ✨ My mum was gifted a beautiful plaster bust of a lady for her 30th birthday, having grown up with this bust in and around the home it has always been part of my life. Now as an adult with a love for home interiors and a career in cake design, my two worlds had to collide… so an edible version was made! 👩‍🍳✨ I will cut into her one day, but now she’ll be admired for as long as possible. Wouldn’t this look amazing as a wedding cake!? Imagine understated beauty, soft linens, a relaxed atmosphere and soft jazz playing, with this bust as your wedding cake to wow your guests… Yes please! 👩‍🍳 Making a cake look like a sculptured bust was one of the hardest challenges I’ve set myself but one of the most rewarding! ✨ Creating the stone effect was my favourite part, I love trying something I’ve never done before. I’m OBSESSED. One of my bucket list cakes I’ve been wanting to make for years is now complete. I had a vision for this cake before I’d even started it, I wanted it photographed somewhere other than my cake shop, in an environment where it would blend into the background and I knew just the spot! My first monster truck! 🏁 I LOVED making something I haven’t done before! This cake went down a storm when it was collected; I didn’t send any work in progress photos, so the client only saw it on collection which makes the reaction even better! This client is very special to me, they have asked me to make their sons cake for the past 5 years! How special is that!! 🥹 Can’t wait to see what 6 brings! This disco ball cake travelled all the way to London, to the borough of Westminster!
