Coming home. One year richer in travel, lessons and growth. Rebuilding life from a clean sheet. Four times moving houses. Becoming an aunt to the most amazing baby. Endless cuddle sessions. Starting to teach yoga. Cooking for yoga retreats and trainings. Joining yoga holidays as a yoga teacher and guide for the first time. Many deep conversations about body image, acceptance, confidence and finding ways to deal with the inner and outer world. Being able to support others on this journey and the path toward a healthier lifestyle, (food) freedom and psychological flexibility. And also: the year of becoming stronger. Strength training, building resilience. Lots of self-care, wellness and meaningful friendships ❤️

After 11 months of traveling, we secretly flew back to the Netherlands on Christmas Eve. In the middle of the night, full of adrenaline and excitement. Snuck in through the back door, and then… tears, hugs, and disbelief 🥹💞 The days that followed were filled with surprises, family, friends, and so much love. Heart rate 160, every single time. The best Christmas gift we could’ve given ourselves: coming home. 🎄❤️

Autumn 2024 🍁 Now that it’s fall time again, a little throwback to Kyoto — where we experienced the most magical autumn ever ❤️‍🔥 From thousands of red torii gates and golden temples to fiery leaves. We biked through ancient gardens, slept on a traditional futon (with some extra layers 😅), watched a geisha perform, and savored every bite of sushi and silence. So much beauty in one city.

From Matsumoto to Takayama. A thrilling ride straight through the Japanese Alps, right in the middle of a snowstorm. We were treated to the most magical mountain views ❄️ We sipped sake, grilled the famous Hida beef (Daan’s new favorite meal ever), wandered through traditional villages, and ofcourse tasted matcha in every possible form 🍵 To top it all off, we ended our stay with an intimate omakase dinner. The freshest sushi, heartfelt conversations, and even a spontaneous reiki session from the chef and his wife. A truly magical way to close our Takayama chapter.

From Castles to Snow Monkeys - december 2025 We took the train to Matsumoto, explored its impressive castle 🏯, learned all about miso (including soft-serve 🍦), and wrapped up with soba noodles 🍜. The next day, we ventured into Kamikōchi — a closed national park in winter, filled with silence, snow, and wild monkeys 🙉. Surrounded by breathtaking peaks and magical stillness, it felt like another world 🤍. We ended the day in a cozy izakaya, sharing delicious Japanese bites.

Recap december 2024 First stop in the last country of our Asia trip: TOKYO 🇯🇵 After 10 months of tropical sun, off-the-beaten-path adventures, and the beautiful chaos of less developed countries, Japan feels like a breath of fresh air. Calm. Order. Cleanliness. It’s like stepping into an entirely different world. And what a world it is. The energy is back, the mind feels clear, and wow — Tokyo is everything we hoped for and more. Modern and magical. Efficient yet full of life. We’re ready to soak up every second of this final chapter

Siargao gave us all the island energy we didn’t know we were craving – a surfer’s town full of life, yoga, cafes, scooters, and spontaneous adventures 🏝️. We surfed (and crashed), made new friends, rode through coconut jungles, and got fine-line tattoos as forever souvenirs of our Asia trip ✍🏼🌏🥥. There were power cuts, tropical downpours, and moments of pure magic – from jumping into lagoons to sharing birthday messages with locals. This island left a mark on us (literally and figuratively). We’re not done with Siargao just yet. See you again, paradise💚.

Siquijor — the island where magic is real (and we’re not just talking about the waterfalls) 💫. Cliff jumping like fearless stunt people (okay… after 10 minutes of hesitation). Endless scooter tours, powered by Daniel — the absolute king of route planning. Snorkeling at Apo Island, where we met sea turtles and a 1.50m tall local legend who’s lived there her whole life. Her stories? Honest, raw, and beautiful — we couldn’t stop listening. Kittens, dogs, and more cuddles than we could handle. Sunsets with good beats, our favorite daily ritual. Butterfly garden bliss. Countless waterfalls, streamside chilling, and front-row seats to surprise Insta model photoshoots (join in or just enjoy the show — your call) 📸

Moalboal, baby! 💦 We’ve been home for a while now, but the travel tales? Far from over. Next stop: the Philippines! Moalboal was our first island stop — and what a start. Grace kicked off with her Advanced PADI at Pangsama Beach (mermaid mode: activated) 🧜‍♀️. We dove headfirst into Filipino cuisine and, unlike most travelers, were genuinely excited about it. Yes, even the mystery meat. We met locals, had heartwarming chats, and watched some of the most unreal sunsets ever. Tried canyoning at Kawasan Falls — 10/10 would recommend (even if we screamed a little). Rented a scooter and cruised across the island with spiky rock cliffs on one side and jungle vibes on the other 🛵⛰️. Climbed Osmeña Peak, the highest point on Cebu. More Filipino adventures coming soon… stay tuned!

Paradise found! 🌴🌊 Spent a week snorkeling in pure luxury on Mabul Island, near the famous Sipadan dive site. Picture this: a quick 30-minute stroll around an island followed by snorkeling in waters with a clear sight of up to 15 meters, teeming with reef sharks, rays, barracudas, giant parrotfish, and an abundance of turtles. And then those fiery sunsets. Absolutely unforgettable! A perfect ending of family time with @isadewolf en @jcvlastuin Yet beneath this idyllic scene lies a strong contrast. On one side, upscale resorts offer luxury and leisure, while on the other, local islanders live in humble driftwood shacks on stilts. It’s a powerful but sad reminder of how two very different worlds coexist side by side.
