Aida is an amazing young person with severe special needs. Around 10 years ago, she discovered a passion for painting scenes from around Brighton. 👩🎨
With encouragement from her mother, Julie, Aida's paintings now regularly appear in exhibitions across the South East and beyond. 👏
We are thrilled to be displaying some of Aida's work in our Artists Open Houses exhibition at The Modern Funeral alongside other autistic artists and artists with learning disabilities who are selling their work. 🙌

Our artists open house exhibition this year features works from the artists we support with a focus on the expression of feelings.
Elliott Duffield, one of our artists, uniquely captures the facial expressions and emotions of well-known celebrities and public figures. His ’Billie Piper’ work is the face of our 2026 open house.

Our Artists Open House is now open! We had such a good time at our private launch on Friday, as we welcomed Pioneer Artists, supporters, colleagues, friends and family to our lovely venue at @the_modern_funeral next to Preston Park station.
Guests enjoyed a wide range of amazing artwork on sale, all created by artists with a learning disability and autistic artists, including screen-printed t-shirts featuring brilliant bespoke designs and copies of Elephant in the Room - a book packed with a collection of short stories and poems. 👍
