Mandie, Amanda, Miss UCLA was my homie.
The only way I’ve been able to process this so is to write this & instagram won’t let me post more than 10 slides so I’ll post another part of this later. We need justice for her. In the mean time I wanted share how special she was to me and a little about our friendship. If you went to UCLA at the time we did, like many who have messaged me, you know she was a force on that campus and then some. Go read it if you want to get to know her better.
Can we talk about my Bestfriend & Wife please? @vickjagger_ we’ve individually have had a very hard spring but together have been able to get through and grow so much. I’m so proud of her for finishing her degree soon and lucky to have her in my corner every day even with everything she balances. No holiday or reason so share this, just love my girl so much!

#2016 , ten years later I won’t write the obvious but recognize deeply, that I do have more hope and courage than I ever did then. It’s hard to be nostalgic about this year but I love the community and vision I’ve built since. I know my work and skills are more grounded now & that I have no reason to spiral in despair, especially when I have friends and colleagues who are still in this struggle for freedom, joy and survival. So many of us became attorneys, became Executive Directors, ran for office and won. And I also see those who left “the work” completely and that too is beautiful.
