Come scout a brand shoot location with me šš
As a brand photographer, Iām not just looking for a pretty spot, Iām looking for a location that will actually WORK on shoot day. I took the wee man with me a made a day of it.
Hereās what I look for before I lock in a location:
Natural textures + foliage
I want depth, layers, organic textures, and tones that elevate the product or model.
Sun direction
I use a sun tracker app to map exactly where the light will hit throughout the day.
Accessibility
Can I drive close?
Can I safely carry all my gear here?
Will talent/clients survive the walk? š
Sea-to-land ratio
I look for balance, dimension, and framing opportunities. Iām not a big fan of green so I tend to keep grassy areas to a minimum. This spot had a great view of the ocean I will be taking full advantage of.
Product placement opportunities
Rocks, ledges, driftwood, textured surfaces, natural styling moments.
Wind direction + weather
Because nobody wants sand blasting the set mid-shoot.
Tide times
Some locations disappear underwater at high tide⦠learned that the hard way.
Bonus things I always notice:
⢠Crowd levels
⢠Parking
⢠Shade options
⢠Places to change/store gear
⢠Safety
⢠Sound if weāre filming video
Pre-production is EVERYTHING.
The more I scout, plan, track light, tides, access, and weather beforehand⦠the more creative freedom I have on shoot day.

Shot with @landandwater at @bamboohouse_cornwall with a relaxed at-home spa feel in mind, lots of natural light, real skin, and slow easy moments.
We kept the retouching minimal so everything still felt human and honest. The light in the space honestly did most of the work for us that day āļø
We created a mix of lifestyle, product, and application imagery for web, socials, and newsletter content, the kind of shoot that still feels timeless and works all year round.

Sunlight š¤ me.
Natural light will always have my heart. The soft glow, the warmth, the way the sun dances through a frame and makes everything feel a little more alive. Itās a feeling I am constantly chasing with my photography.
But letās be honest, in Cornwall, sunshine isnāt exactly guaranteed and Iāve learned not to wait around for the weather to decide the mood of a shoot. When the clouds roll in, I bring my own sunshine with me.
Over the years Iāve built a lighting setup that mimics the feeling of real sunlight, warm, natural, sun-dappled light that feels effortless and honest. I never want my images to feel overly ālitā or staged. I want them to feel like golden hour spilling through the windows, skin kissed by the sun, salty air, slow mornings, summer memories. Delicious light.
Whether the sun shows up or not, the feeling always will it āØ

For the last 10+ years, photography has taught me how to notice and capture meaningful moments.
Lately, stepping into film has opened up a whole new side of creativity for me, thinking about movement, sound, emotion and how a story can really feel. Itās been exciting in a way I didnāt expect.
Iāve got some interesting projects in the works at the moment and Iām really enjoying collaborating with brands in a more cinematic way.
Currently booking:
⢠Stills
⢠Motion
⢠Hybrid shoot days
Iām most interested in creating honest, feeling-led work with good people.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, DM or email me š

I followed @nancy.daniell to France for a week, capturing her creative process, her time there, and the final murals. Sometimes life hands you a dream project and you simply have to make it happen. This one ticked every box, and I came away with memories I will truly treasure for a long time.
Watching Nancy work was fascinating. She is prolific, her mind constantly bubbling with ideas. The way she uses paints and brushes is especially interesting when you understand her background as an MUA on film sets. Together we spent hours and days planning the project. For the kind of work I create, location is everything, and @maisongarcin was perfect, a little slice of heaven deep in the French countryside.
There was something intimate and enriching about working one on one with Nancy. I was able to spend real time with her, getting inside her mind and teasing out what this project meant to her. Her murals are rich with symbolism, history, and emotion tied to the homeowner. The way Nancy listens to someoneās story and translates it into a visual mural in such a chic way is unmatched. @argilepeinture
Lots of wind, waves, and a bumpy ferry ride, not my average shoot day šš¬ļø
Shot last Friday in St. Mawes, Cornwall with @solpardus_official . The conditions were a little wild, the wind was blowing. But the energy was so good. When youāve got a strong team and endless coastal backdrops, nothing really gets in the way.
Grateful for days like this, where āgoing to workā looks a lot like an adventure and hanging out with friends.

Easing back into reality after an incredible week in France shooting @nancy.daniell at @maisongarcin . Long outdoor dinners, plenty of beers, and more pastries than Iād like to admit. Now to get stuck into the edit āØļø
