Some projects hit different. ⚽️🔥
In my early 20s, I went to the 1994 World Cup matches in Dallas and watched Argentina vs. Bulgaria play live. Fast forward to now… getting asked by @artistuprising and @cocacolaswb to create artwork inspired by the World Cup feels appropriate.
Growing up, there was usually a Coke somewhere in the mix. 🥤 And honestly… that thirst hasn’t changed.
Late nights painting, sketching, brainstorming ideas, and hanging with my brothers from another mother — Los Aligadores — watching matches from around the world… all part of the camaraderie and culture.
I titled this one Thirst for the Game — inspired by movement, hip hop culture, the rhythm of the streets, and the nonstop energy that makes the World Cup bigger than the matches themselves.
The pursuit. The fans. The flair. The culture. The monumental moments.
That global energy just hits different. 🌎⚽️

Plot twist: the graffiti artist gets the degree. 🎓🖌️
When I graduated high school in the 90s, I dreamed of art school. But college was expensive — and for a kid like me, it felt out of reach.
So I did what I knew how to do. I hit the library and traveled. I found my people in art crowds, events, galleries, and organizations. I collaborated, I failed, I learned, I led - repeat — and I did my best to pass lessons down to the people beside me.
That’s why this moment hits different. @houstoncitycollege knows I learned on a different path — education should be within everyone’s reach. Their mission is to make quality education accessible to everyone in our community, and I am beyond honored to be recognized by them at a graduation ceremony today to receive an Honorary Baccalaureate Degree. 🙏🏽
A heartfelt thank you to the Houston City College Board of Trustees for this honor, and to Trustee District I, Monica Richart, for the nomination. This means more than words can express. 🙏🏽
To every kid who felt priced out of their dream, and to anyone who was told their passion wasn’t worth pursuing or was snubbed by snobs because you didn’t fit their mold — keep building anyway. Keep going. The recognition doesn’t always come the way you expected. 🙌🏽🖌️❤️
