With so many new faces here, it feels like the right moment to reintroduce myself. I’m Kim, founder of Gold Leaf Brides. Thank you for being part of this little corner of the wedding world and for following along. If you have enjoyed being part of this journey, let me know in the comments 🤍
5 of our best tips so you can avoid a wardrobe disaster on your big day.
1. Try On Your Shoes: As you walk down the aisle, you’ll be holding your bouquet in one hand and your partner’s hand in the other, leaving no free hand to adjust your dress.
Your gown’s hem should be tailored perfectly to the height of your heels to save any tripping nightmares.
2. Try On Your Underwear: Get a friend to check for things like VPL or bras peeking out where they shouldn’t be. And don’t forget to check the undergarments for your second or third looks too!
3. Try Sitting In Your Dress: During your bridal gown fitting appointment practice sitting and getting back up gracefully.
4. Try Dancing In Your Dress: Grab your bestie during your fitting, pop on your favourite tune, and have a boogie around the bridal showroom to make sure you’re dress will stay up all night.
5. Try Dipping In Your Dress: To make sure your big swoon-worthy shot feels effortless, have a quick practice dip in your dress ahead of the day, it’ll make all the difference.

As the new season begins, I have been reflecting on a beautiful trip to Jamaica and how much joy I had styling myself there! It was such a special time to truly switch off, enjoy the moment, and reset before stepping into a busy bridal season ahead 🌴

Wednesday wrapped up the most wonderful 3 days at Engage Riviera. The day began with panel discussions, and one of my favourites was a Q&A with Kunbi Odubogun @kunbiesq who shared some very good reminders about keeping contracts updated and the importance of keeping up with the less pretty side of our businesses.
We then moved into breakout sessions, reflecting on everything we had taken away from the week and all the conversations shared over the last few days.
Lunch was set in the square at Roquebrune village, with surprise performers appearing throughout dressed as a chef, postman and paramedic, such a fun touch to the afternoon. Then the week ended with the gala dinner and after party, the perfect finish to such an inspiring few days 💛

I had the pleasure of attending Engage Riviera, and it really was such a special few days. Three days of connecting, catching up and hearing from some of the best in the industry. Day 1 was an all blue affair, with talks from Anant Sharma, Marcy Blum, Lynn Easton, Greg Finck and Emma Gold, such a strong start.
Stay tuned to see what we got up to, it was so inspiring and great to be a part of! 🩵
