''The emotional scream of Vincent Ford, who is also the frontman of Gulfer, nods to straight-up-the-middle emo-revival, but delve deeper and you will hear a complex and experimental instrumental performance. Soft nervousness, polite violence, distortion that slips in with a smile.''

Heeeeeeey, long time no see, we just finished our newest record and we're really stoked about it.
It's called ''Spitting God'' and here's our first single ''Arizona''. Check it out, link in bio! ''Arizona took shape when our guitar player Nath wrote the ending riff. He wanted to create an interesting and simple riff in 7 to practice too. He decided to make that riff shift in the way that it creates an isorhythmic pattern. Isorhythm is a musical technique that arranges a fixed pattern of pitches with a repeating rhythmic pattern. The song starts in G lydian, shifts in the middle to Ionian G and then comes back to G lydian. We use the isorhythmic to throw the listener off and make the song seem like it's always evolving.
The lyrics were inspired by my experiences with panic attacks. Breathing, but not feeling the air coming in, not feeling any sense of relief and not knowing what it will take to end this moment. You don’t know what started it or how to deal with it until someone who has also experienced it, guides you through the process. I guess I chose Arizona because I know it can be really hot out there, and I wanted to make the song about suffocating. I liked that comparison. A panic attack is a lot like someone being stuck out in the desert, suffocating in the intense heat.''
