We are so lucky to work in such a dynamic community that embraces the many different histories and ways of being that are alive and well in Tulsa. How healing it has been to work with artists committed to the processes of healing through storytelling and art. From the moment I met @truesonart and @ziakelty , I knew our friendship would last as long as there were questions to be answered and problems to be solved. So proud of their continued work and engagement with this city that we all love. Congrats and thank you for Equinox. We all feel the shifting. #brucegoff #adahrobinson @goff_fest@cityoftulsa@bostonavenueumc@tulsaartistfellowship@scraps_designs@britnispace@artinstitutechi@downtowntulsaok

Preservation matters. Visionary architect Bruce Goff created designs that pushed the boundaries of arechitecture, imagination, and individuality. Yet too many of his works have been lost. One of the most heartbreaking examples is ShinâenKan, his extraordinary home in Bartlesville, Oklahomaâdestroyed by fire in 1996, reportedly the result of arson.
When we lose places like ShinâenKan, we lose more than a building. We lose a piece of cultural history, a physical expression of creativity that can never truly be replaced.
Thatâs why our team is committed to sharing the documentary GOFF. By bringing Goffâs story and his architecture to audiences everywhere, we hope to inspire appreciation, awareness, and ultimately preservationâso the remaining works of Bruce Goff are protected and celebrated rather than forgotten.

Long before âthinking outside the boxâ was a clichĂŠ, Bruce Goff was busy refusing to acknowledge the box even existed. A true architectural rebel, he rejected rigid modernist rules, embraced unconventional materials, and designed wildly expressive spaces that looked like nothing else on Earth. Non-conformity wasnât a phase for Goff â it was the blueprint.

Visionary architect Bruce Goff believed great design exists within âthe continuous present,â â an architecture that is always unfolding, always becoming, shaped by life. Nowhere is this philosophy more alive than in the iconic Bavinger House, completed in 1955 for Eugene and Nancy Bavinger in Norman, Oklahoma. Rising organically from the Oklahoma landscape, the soaring spiral dissolves the boundaries between structure, nature, and daily living.â
â
For Goff, architecture wasnât a style â it was a living expression of human experience, continuously present and endlessly changing.â

Bruce Alonzo Goff (1904â1982) was an American architect whose wildly original vision set him apart from his 20th-century peers. Born in Alton, Kansas, he showed talent early and began apprenticing with an architectural firm in Tulsa at just 12 years old, eventually becoming a partner in his early twenties. Over a career spanning more than six decades, Goff designed roughly 500 projects, about 150 of which were built, ranging from homes and churches to museum spaces. His work embraced organic and eclectic principles, often using unconventional materials and inventive forms that defied mainstream architectural trends of his time

đ Only in OKLAHOMA can a birthday bash for Bruce Goff turn into an unforgettable day of architecture, community, and bike racing! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Tulsa Spotlight Theater during @tulsa_tough â and to our stellar group of volunteers who made it all happen. đŤ
As cyclists raced to the finish line past the old Riverside Studio, we honored the visionary and boundary-pushing legacy of Bruce Goff â an architect whose design philosophy still challenges and inspires. Goff Fest is more than a celebration â itâs a chance to keep his legacy alive and to bring people together through his innovative designs. It reminds us why preservation matters: protecting and maintaining these buildings ensures that future generations can experience and learn from his unique approach to art and space.
This week has been a great example of the extraordinary support within this community! Thank you to everyone that continues to follow the dark arts of Bruce Goff.
