Dad, thinking to himself: "Daughter is a gymnast, boyfriend is a mountain biker with a BMX background. My grandkids are gonna be slopestyle pros."

TDS 2024 - What an incredible ride!
Last year I went as a spectator and guest of a racer and it was amazing! This year being involved as a sponsor was absolutely mind blowing! It’s hard to put in to words what the experience was like this year: riding The Ranch with Team Semper Fi, having the Gnar Couch logo on the podium banner and shirts, seeing people riding around on Friday at practice with our fenders on their bikes, talking to and interviewing MTB legends, working with people on content and social media for the show, playing craft services for anyone that came by the campsite, forging new bonds and strengthening others, the list could go on for days!
It absolutely amazes me the quality of people that are at this event and I stand by my statement from last year that this is hands down the best event in all of MTB!
Big thanks to the Sanchez family for the work they put in to this and the passion they have for the race and the people involved. I can’t thank them enough for what they do and welcoming us in to the TDS family! 🤘🏻❤️

DRAPER Utah - Local rider Landon Malaprop, already under scrutiny for referring to his standard mountain bike as an “acoustic bike,” drew renewed criticism Saturday after repeatedly calling area trails “natural dirt conveyors” during a group ride, sources confirmed.
Witnesses said Malaprop arrived at the trailhead, removed his bike from a hitch rack with unnecessary flourish and asked nearby riders if they wanted to “spin a few laps on the dirt conveyors before the crowds hit.” Several riders reportedly believed he was describing a new lift-access system before realizing he meant the existing trail network.
“We all just kind of stared at him,” said rider Neil Baffeld, who had already clipped in and was hoping to leave quickly. “Then he pointed at the singletrack and said, ‘You know, the natural uphill conveyor.’ That’s when we knew it was going to be a long day.”
The incident escalated near the jump line, where Malaprop was seen studying a series of tabletops before announcing he was “not in the mood for dirt trampolines today.” He then rolled slowly around the features and told onlookers he was focusing on “flow architecture” instead.
“It never stops,” said longtime riding partner Joel Sighler. “Last month he called brakes ‘speed opinions.’ Before that, he said clipless pedals were ‘shoe handcuffs.’ You start wondering if maybe he smacked his head on the ground at some point.”
Riders said Malaprop later paused near the summit overlook, where he placed one foot on the ground, inhaled deeply and delivered an unsolicited speech about authenticity in cycling.
“This is why I stay acoustic,” Malaprop said while adjusting knee pads he calls “leg helmets.” “No batteries. No shortcuts. Just lungs, grit and the mountain’s beautiful conveyor system.”
